Bukalapak Becomes the Startup with the Most Advertisements in Q3 2018

Overall, "spending" advertising on television increased by 174% over the same period the previous year

PT Sigi Kaca Pariwara (Adstensity), platform monitoring television advertising, recording TV advertising spending by the company E-commerce experienced a significant increase in Q3 2018. The increase reached 174% compared to advertising spending in the same period the previous year. In Q3 2017 the value was IDR 457,62 billion, while in Q3 this year it was IDR 1,25 trillion. Bukalapak is the most passionate e-commerce startup in advertising.

This condition is inversely proportional to spending the retail industry in decline. What was originally at Rp105,23 billion in Q3 2017 to Rp77,74 billion in Q3 2018. Advertising growth on television for business E-commerce indicates that this media has the most significant impact on increasing audience and business growth.

"Top 10brandretail-online marketplace Most advertising spending in the third quarter of 2018 was entirely occupied by brands from online marketplace” explained Director of Sigi Kaca Pariwara A. Sapto Anggoro.

For Q3 2018, Bukalapak will be the one top with a total expenditure of Rp302,79 billion, an increase of 271% from the previous year. Besides Bukalapak, three services E-commerce (and travel) others have stayed in the top ten television advertisers since last year. They are Shopee, Mister Aladin, and Tokopedia.

Bukalapak dominated advertisements during the 2018 Asian Games which were broadcast on SCTV and Indosiar in the period 18 August - 2 September 2018. As we all know, EMTEK, the owner of SCTV and Indosiar, is one of the stakeholder the biggest Bukalapak.
