The government has finally officially issued a revision of Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 50 of 2020 concerning Trade via Electronic Systems, which is contained in Minister of Trade Regulation No. 31/2023.

In this revision, one of them forbid social media platforms double as eCommerce in the country. One platform that is currently intensively implementing this is TikTok Shop.

This policy has caused polemics and debates in a number of circles, many of whom are disappointed, especially users who actively use the TikTok Shop platform to sell their merchandise, through the feature live streaming which is currently popular among Indonesian people.
