The pandemic period encouraged the development of healthtech and gave birth to these 5 startups in Indonesia

In the era of a pandemic like the one we are currently living, it becomes enough momentum for developers healthtech In Indonesia, the ease of access and services that are in accordance with the needs of the community have made many people now begin to entrust their health to the community healthtech.

1. Halodoc

The startup founded by Jonathan Sudharta in 2016 is now officially launching an application that is used to support its services, Halodoc makes it easy for consumers to be able to access several features such as: teleconsultation or online consultation, in-person lab examination on-demand and purchase and delivery of drugs through pharmacies.

Currently Halodoc has established various kinds of cooperation with various parties, including the Ministry of Health, Gojek, Prodia Laboratory, Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) to provide easy access to health for all Indonesian people.

In 2018, Halodoc received “The Most Innovative Start Up” award from Galen Growth Asia and was directly selected by Forbes Indonesia as the “Startup Choice” for that year. Meanwhile in 2019, Halodoc was selected as the “2019 Tempo Startup Choice” in the People's Choice category.

 2.Clickdoctor

Startup type healthtech the second is Klikdokter, this startup is more focused as an information and education portal related to existing health issues. Klikdokter is managed by doctors and medical professionals, besides that there are several features provided by Klikdokter such as a list of hospitals, drugs, pharmacies and a doctor list directory.

Currently, Klikdokter is developing an application that can support health education on a mobile basis together with Lifebuoy.

Since it was first inaugurated in 2014, there are now around 18 million active users who trust Alodokter as a health consultation platform, this is because the services provided by Alodokter are sufficient to meet the needs of the Indonesian people. In addition, Alodokter is also fully integrated to provide health services to the community, all doctors registered with Alodokter have a Registration Certificate (STR), which means that they have met the standards set by the Indonesian government.

 4.Consulate

Departing from the fact that in Indonesia it is still very difficult to reconcile the needs of patients with competent doctors to handle them, Shinta Nurfauzia, Johannes Ardiant, and Ronald Wijaya finally decided to create a Consulate.

5. Doctor.id

Then the last one is Dokter.id, this startup created by Grace Tahir reportedly managed to get an injection of funds from RingMD. There are several main features provided by Dokter.id, one of which is the online discussion forum 'Ask Doctor'. This forum will provide an opportunity for visitors to have online discussions with doctors.

Reportedly, the latest feature provided by Dokter.id is in the form of reviews about hospitals, of course this feature will provide more information for the public to choose a hospital related to the facilities and services provided.

If you look at the data above, it can be concluded that Indonesia actually has a large enough potential that can support development healthtech in the Asian region. Currently, there are more than 17 startup companies engaged in the healthtech in Indonesia, and of course it will grow again over time.
