This report was released by Ericsson ConsumerLab
Starting 2016, Ericsson ConsumerLab released predictions of 10 consumer trends that will boom this year. The report, which was compiled since 2015 and involved 24 countries, is one of Ericsson's programs to find out what consumers want in the future. As a technology company, this kind of data will be very useful for Ericsson before launching a new product.
In full, here are 10 consumer trends that will boom in 2016.
Lifestyle Network Effect
The internet has changed many elements in human life, including lifestyle. In the results of his research, 4 and 5 people experienced a change in lifestyle where 50% of respondents had more than one social networking account. While 1 in 3 respondents are involved in the sharing economy trend or renting out personal assets for businesses, Go-Jek and Uber are the easiest examples.
Stream Natives
According to Ericsson, in 2015 the number of teens who spent 3 hours on YouTube tripled, while 3% of them spent 46 hour.
Artificial Intelligence Ends the Age of Screens
Artificial intelligence technology is believed to be the most striking trend. Respondents have the view that later they can give tasks to devices at home without having to go through smartphone. In the future, artificial intelligence-driven devices will be even more widespread.
Virtual Gets Real
In 2015, VR headset technology has received a fairly large portion of attention from the public. And in 2016 it is believed that there will be holographic technology used for conferences and also by the e-commerce industry. The actual application, for example, is to try on the size of clothes or shoes before buying. Then as many as 44 percent of respondents said they wanted to be able to "print" their food with a printer.
Sensing Home
Smart home technology in the future will become an increasingly widespread trend. Respondents suspect that parts of the house such as glass will have sensors so that it can turn dark when the sun starts to shine.
Smart Commuters
There are high expectations for network support as commuters travel from home to work or vice versa. In the future, connectivity in public transportation will develop in a better direction, operators will be increasingly encouraged to optimize the network in these areas.
Emergency Chat
Currently, social networking is still an option to find the latest news developments when major incidents occur. On the other hand, many netizens also share and report an incident there. In the future, it is hoped that there will be many emergency portals that can be provided by operators or local authorities.
Internables
Respondents suspect that internatable technology or sensors implanted into the human body will be as popular as wearable devices. These sensors allow users to benefit automatically through the five senses, such as hearing aids that can translate foreign languages automatically part-team.
Everything Gets Hacked
Hackers and viruses grow in direct proportion to advances in technology. It's no wonder that smartphone users believe that hackers are still a problem that haunts 2016, maybe even in the following years.
Netizen Journalist
Netizen journalists are believed to play an important role and have a more significant impact in raising certain issues. Respondents felt that the impact of the internet was more effective in getting public and government attention, for example related to the depravity of a company, rather than reporting it to the authorities.
