EdenFarm Reported Again Laying Off Employees

Previously, EdenFarm laid off around 300 people in September 2023 as a result of the decline in its core business

Startups agritech EdenFarm reportedly laid off a number of its employees again. According to information we obtained from one of those affected, the layoff action has been carried out since December 2023 and until now they have not received severance pay rights.

DailySocial.id has contacted EdenFarm Founder & CEO David Setyadi Gunawan, including management to confirm the news, but there has been no response until this news was published.

Prior to this news, EdenFarm had laid off around 300 people in September 2023 as a result of the decline in its core business. In an interview with DailySocial.id At that time, David revealed that Demand for vegetable distribution outside Jabodetabek continues to decline.

EdenFarm also decided to pivot to PourPour seasoning products which will be launched on the market in early September 2023. This business transition is also EdenFarm's strategy to get out of the cycle of commodity price fluctuations and achieve profitability. Apart from that, TuangTuang's development and marketing costs are also considered more efficient compared to its core business.

EdenFarm is a supply chain startup for fresh food in the B2B segment which was founded in 2017. The company last acquired B pre-series funding in late 2022, led by Telkomsel Innovation Partners (TMI). Some of the other participating investors are AC Ventures, AppWorks, Y Combinator, and Investible.
