Zyllem is Ready to Fulfill the Development of E-Commerce Logistics Needs in Indonesia

Zyllem, a leading SaaS (Software as a Service) company in logistics management, has announced its expansion amid the rapidly growing e-commerce market in Indonesia. Based on a report from Google, E-commerce in Indonesia experienced a GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) growth of 52% from US$35 billion in 2020 to US$53 billion in 2021, while the logistics and transportation sector has a market opportunity of US$81,3 billion that is ready to be further developed through digitization according to the Mordor Intelligence report. This makes the logistics industry must keep up with these developments to be able to meet this rapid demand.

Chosen as a Technology Pioneer in 2021 by the World Economic Forum, Zyllem is a cloud-based software that can help companies to manage and operate their entire logistics distribution network efficiently, easily and transparently. Zyllem has also been trusted by various large companies in Indonesia, such as PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL), Datascrip, and Garudafood.

Lisa Nguyen, Chief Operations Officer and Co-founder of Zyllem said, “Southeast Asia's digital economy has been driven by rapid digitalization of both consumers and businesses and this development was unprecedented before the pandemic. Zillem is ready to support this growth considering the number of businesses that require optimization of logistics management to meet customer needs. Nevertheless, Indonesia still ranks as one of the countries with the highest logistics costs in Asia. This is both an obstacle and an opportunity for Zyllem to provide efficient and affordable solutions for local businesses.”

Indonesia has its own challenges regarding the logistics delivery process due to geographical conditions that make it dependent on sea transportation for domestic and international shipments. Companies also still rely on a much more complex multimodal distribution system. The state of poor infrastructure and natural disasters also make logistics planning a big task for every company. This makes the rapid development of the e-commerce industry increasingly in need of a fast and efficient ecosystem to support smooth operations.

“Indonesia has a complex logistics network with various challenges in every supply chain fulfillment process. Zyllem can provide optimal solutions by recording all logistics operational activities into a dashboard that can be viewed and managed directly by our users. Through this solution, Zyllem can reduce planning time by up to 85% and it is possible to increase productivity by up to 30% per day. Faster delivery and tracking system real-time also makes the experience comfortable and reduces complaints for customers,” said Joanna Pawluczuk, Head of Sales Zyllem.

Johannes Setiadharma, Supply Chain Director of PT Sinar Niaga Sejahtera added, “Our supply chain operations are very broad and have many complex layers, especially during the production and distribution process of products. If there are problems in delivery, it can result in big losses because our products have limited durability. By partnering with Zyllem, we have made it easier for our logistics operations to be able to monitor and make the necessary route changes for deliveries online real-time. The results and efficiencies brought by Zillem have helped us to optimize our supply chain operations well.”

Since its founding in 2014, Zyllem has worked closely with various business sectors; F&B, pharmacy, logistics and retail in solving their supply chain problems across Asia. Headquartered in Singapore, Zyllem has operations in eight countries in Asia and manages two million orders each month; and 60% of these activities come from Indonesia. Wavemaker Partners, a leading venture capital firm, is also one of Zyllem's main investors.

Paul Santos, Managing Partner of Wavemaker Partners, said, “The pandemic has accelerated the digitization of supply chain management. Zyllem uniquely provides solutions for companies to have complete control over internal and third party logistics providers on a single platform. Today, Zyllem is already helping to manage more than two million shipments per month, which we expect to more than double this year.”
