Get to know Garapin, the “Cloud Factory” Digital Platform

During the current pandemic, the sector most affected is the MSME sector. MSMEs are considered very important for the economy in Indonesia, because the MSME sector is the backbone of the Indonesian economy with a contribution of 57,4 percent of Indonesia's total gross domestic product (GDP). Various ways are carried out by the government to save the continuity of the MSME business.

One of the steps taken by the government in helping MSME actors to survive during the pandemic is to provide guidance so that MSME actors are more innovative in terms of goods and services by utilizing digital technology.

Seeing this impact, many young Indonesians have the initiative to help government programs so that MSME actors digitize their businesses. One of them is the Garapin application developed by Semarang students who are motivated to help the Indonesian economy.

Garapin is a digital platform that creates a production process ecosystem that combines Producers, Suppliers, and Shops. through the Garapin application, producers can meet potential customers who have ideas to make a product.

For example: Mr. Anwar wants to make souvenirs for an office event, Mr. Anwar has difficulty finding manufacturers who can make souvenirs according to his wishes. With the Garapin application, Mr. Anwar can choose the right producer according to his needs without having to meet face to face and carry out production.

Currently the Garapin application is available on the Google Playstore and Apple Playstore. and will launch in mid-November 2021.
