JobStreet, Drama-Free Job Platform, together with Lazada and Ninja Xpress Supports the Growth of Indonesian MSMEs

In a virtual media event today, JobStreet, a drama-free job platform, and its partners share data about MSMEs in Indonesia; challenges or dramas faced by MSMEs in Indonesia; as well as initiatives implemented to support the growth of MSMEs. The virtual event was attended by Sawitri Hertoto, Country Marketing Manager, JobStreet Indonesia; Andi Djoewarsa, Chier Marketing Officer, Ninja Xpress; Haikal Bekti Anggoro, SVP, Seller Operations, Lazada Indonesia; and Ivan Gunawan, celebrity and MSME entrepreneur.

Sawitri Hertoto, Country Marketing Manager, JobStreet Indonesia explained “A drama-free job platform, JobStreet understands the important role of MSMEs in building the Indonesian economy. The pandemic period has become a challenging time for MSMEs, where the government has intervened to help MSME recovery. From JobStreet's side, we are also aware of the various challenges or dramas faced by MSMEs in Indonesia, based on JobStreet's internal research 74% of MSMEs do not use platforms with technology built specifically for recruitment; 54% of MSMEs have difficulty in screening applications; and 40% of MSMEs find it difficult to attract the right candidate. In addition, MSMEs also have difficulty identifying current and future workforce needs and do not have special HRD staff to handle employees. Through various initiatives, we are trying to help liberate MSMEs from the drama they face.”

Talking about the challenges faced by MSMEs in Indonesia, Andi Djoewarsa, Chief Marketing Officer, Ninja Xpress said “As a partner of MSMEs, Ninja Xpress seeks to hear the needs of MSMEs. Referring to the report from Suara UKM Negeri, which was developed by Ninja Xpress in collaboration with Markplus, currently MSMEs in Indonesia are facing challenges, especially in terms of finance, marketing, distribution and logistics as well as human resources (HR). Focusing on HR, 40% of MSMEs do not need HR development in their MSME business, because MSMEs have not realized the need for developing the required human resource capacity. In addition, 53% of MSMEs feel they need assistance to develop human resources through, for example, mentoring programs. Therefore, through one of the Ninja Reward programs, namely Axilation III which took place last September, Ninja Xpress collaborated with Jobstreet to give classes on how MSMEs can do business on autopilot. In the future, Ninja Xpress is committed to presenting Axilation as a forum for business education, which will continue to help MSME players to develop.”

“MSME scale businesses such as Lazada sellers must be able to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible, including in finding the right team. That's one of the important reasons why Lazada teamed up with Jobstreet to introduce the importance of digital transformation for recruitment for sellers at the Lazada Sellers Conference, Level Up last month. With digital transformation in the field of recruitment prepared by Jobstreet.com for MSMEs, MSME businesses can be calmer to focus on business strategies and product innovation so that their business on the eCommerce platform can develop faster and accelerate rapidly," explained Haikal Bekti Anggoro, SVP , Seller Operations, Lazada Indonesia

According to Ivan Gunawan, celebrity and MSME entrepreneur, “Currently, I have an MSME business that is engaged in fashion, beauty and culinary. Like other businesses, of course there are various dramas that I face in running the MSME business, especially during this pandemic, and the thing that is quite challenging is finding quality employees. I currently employ about 200 employees in my businesses, and it is not easy to find suitable employees, especially if you have to go the traditional way. In my opinion, now applying for a job at MSMEs can be more practical and easier by using a digital platform like JobStreet because the registered applicant data is complete and the screening process is also more efficient. I feel the drama of looking for employees is reduced considerably when using digital means like what JobStreet offers. For MSMEs who want to grow, try looking for open vacancies on JobStreet and feel the benefits.

As a Drama-Free Job Platform, JobStreet wants to help liberate MSMEs from the drama they have faced so far to be able to develop and transform digitally, which is needed especially in terms of recruitment to streamline all traditional processes and adapt to new systems and analytical data to be able to keep up with trends. and manage performance better. JobStreet provides features including advertising packages; MSME education and easy access to services, which include partnerships, monthly webinars, easy payments and templates for job descriptions. Based on local insights, JobStreet has also launched its newest Drama-Free campaign, featuring the story of Roro Jonggrang.

“JobStreet is a drama-free job platform trusted by more than 11 million job seekers and more than 32 thousand employers. Our platform provides various features that can help job seekers and employers to be more efficient in the job search process. Not only big companies, but JobStreet also serves MSMEs in Indonesia and provides initiatives to support MSME growth. We hope that with our initiative, MSMEs in Indonesia can be free from the drama they have faced so far and can continue to progress and develop," concluded Sawitri Hertoto.
