Zenius Strategy Boost Business and Reach More Users

The Zenius site has been visited by 51 million unique users in eight years

Startups EdTech Zenius began to aggressively attract new users by opening access to more than 80 thousand content for free. This strategy can be said of the company's efforts to strengthen its position as an edtech pioneer in Indonesia since 15 years of operation.

Co-Founder Zenius Sabda PS said that this strategy can be considered radical, but has already received approval from all stakeholders in the company. He also has not confirmed the time span of this program will take place.

"Regarding monetization, let us think about it later. For sure We always try to be marketing leader," he said, Wednesday (18/12).

This consideration was taken partly because of the company's internal research. It is stated that the impact felt by students is to better understand science and not dichotomy that science is only learned in school, so that the effect is more pronounced and can be applied in everyday life.

"From these findings, that's why we open access so that more and more people are addicted to learning."

Sabda also explained the performance of Zenius from January 2011 to December 2019. Among them, the Zenius.net site has been visited by 51 million unique users, a sharp increase from its initial establishment of only 268 thousand visits.

Then there are 1 million registered users on the application, more than 200 million videos are played online, the question pack has been downloaded 3 million times, and the application has been downloaded more than 500 thousand times since its release in March 2019.

As a vertical pioneer EdTech, Zenius formulates an effective learning approach in order to create superior human resources in the future. The company focuses on conceptual understanding and the formation of reasoning power, so that the basic competition it wants to establish is a deep understanding of scientific concepts.

It's not just about remembering and memorizing. Thus, students and learners are projected to have a good mindset and be able to adapt and find solutions to the problems they face.

"To adjust to the education system, we still set practical targets so that students can still meet the target value at school. core the material is intellectual development. If the fundamentals are right, any test can do it."

With the mission above, Sabda admitted that his party is quite confident with the level of competition with players in similar realms. All content compiled by the team in-house Zenius, by emphasizing the aspect of impact to be generated. Because, according to him, business in the world of education cannot be arbitrary, there is accountability.

"Our competitors are in social media and games, how to make content as interesting as they are but far from making them productive. When all of this has been tested and proven its quality, we will not be afraid to be much more exposed [to the public]."

Next business plan

Sabda was reluctant to elaborate further on how the next target for the development of Zenius will be next year. Including rumors about funding from Northstar Group received by the company. He only said that next year will be a busy year because there are many initiatives that will be carried out.

"Affairs backend Zenius will definitely have a lot of announcements, we'll let you know later because there are lots of programs that we want to do next year."

He also said that the company is currently undergoing internal restructuring, there is a large number of new talents added to realize the company's ambitions. The number of employees continues to grow, for teachers alone it is estimated that there are more than 60 people.

Zenius not only has Zenius.net for online learning media based on sites and applications. They also have Zenius Center offline tutoring and a platform for employee training called agora.id contains vocational education content.

The company also sells video content offline called Zenius Box, in the form of a server intranet which contains Zenius-produced content without having to be connected to the internet.

"We have content from elementary, middle, high and vocational schools, later with the independence of access to education from us, there will be much more things they need, we can go there," concluded Sabda.
