Zalora Releases In-App Visual Search Feature

Collaborating with AI company ViSense

Fashion e-commerce site zalora announced the launch of in-app visual search, as the company strives to increase sales conversions.

As of today (20/11), users of the Zalora application, both on Android and iOS, can downloadclick search button. Then take a picture of their favorite clothes, shoes or accessories, and can see similar products on Zalora.

Currently the Zalora application has been downloaded by more than 20 million customers. More than half of Zalora's orders come from mobile devices. The presence of this feature is important to attract users to transact.

The company is partnering with ViSense, an AI company that drives online commerce through visuals for Zalora fashion consumers. The AI ​​technology presented is a smart image detection solution to streamline the process when consumers are looking for visuals on the site.

ViSense has offices in the United States, United Kingdom, India, China and Singapore. Some ViSense partners who are already using this technology are Rakuten and ASOS.

CTO Zalora Karthik Subramanian said this feature was presented by the company to overcome customer difficulties in describing clothes or shoes into text searches. The launch of this feature also coincides with celebrating the year-end shopping season.
