Xurya Plans to Enter Solar Rooftop Installation for Residential Areas

Renewable energy startup Xurya revealed plans to enter residential areas. This is used as an expansion step to expand the adoption of a more massive use of solar power plants (PLTS). Previously, the company reached out to business segments across industries to install Rooftop PLTS, with a total of 86 projects that were in operation.

"Xurya is committed to continuing to innovate in supporting industry and the green economy in Indonesia, does not rule out the possibility that in the future Xurya plans to expand the Rooftop PLTS installation business in the residential sector," explained Xurya's VP Marketing George Hadi Santoso when contacted. Unfortunately he was not willing to specify when the plan can be realized. But separately in the interview with the media, Co-founder and CEO Xurya Eka Himawan has given positive signals regarding the company's expansion into segments outside of B2B.

"Until now we are still in companies, but we do not rule out the possibility [..] and we will definitely expand into the government and community sectors," said Eka.

Its closest competitor has entered the residential segment, for example SolarKita and SUN Energy. SolarKita claims 80% of its users are residential people, spread across Greater Jakarta, Surakarta and Bali.

According to George, not only expanding into new segments, his party will also expand its B2B users outside of Java so that more and more industries use Rooftop PLTS. In supporting this plan, currently the company has opened branch offices in Medan, Semarang and Surabaya.

Xurya's achievements

Quoted separately from the official statement, Xurya explained his achievements last year. It is claimed that the company succeeded in producing more than 589,7 million kWh of clean energy which effectively counteracted as much as 548,4 million kg of CO2, and opened green jobs for 1.792 people.

In order to support the target of achieving the national energy mix from New, Renewable Energy (EBT) of 23% by 2025, it is stated that Xurya has carried out more than 100 Rooftop PLTS installation projects in Indonesia, with details of 86 projects that have been operating and 32 other projects that are still in progress. construction stage.

According to Eka, government policies and directives regarding the use of rooftop solar for industry are one of the factors in the increase in demand for installations.

Going forward, Xurya is committed to being able to continue to be present in accommodating and contributing to the development of the green industry in Indonesia," concluded Eka.

In October 2022, the company received additional Series A funding from Japanese giant Mitsui & Co. and PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk in the amount of $ 11,5 million or equivalent to Rp. 172,6 billion.
