Windows 10 Tutorial: Changing the Installation Location of a Program or Application

Beginner's guide for Anyone who wants to change the save location in Windows 10

Often you do not have enough free storage space on the computer in the room system (C:). Meanwhile normally, if you download a new app from the Store it will be placed in the standard storage space. Since Windows 10 is here, you can now install applications not only on C: but can be placed anywhere else, whether it's an SD Card, USB or something else.

Windows will create a folder new, WindowsApp in the previous storage and folder it cannot be accessed other than the account you use for sign in to Windows.

Curious how to set it up? Follow these steps:

  1. Open the application Settings then select System.
  2. Select menu Storage from the panel on the left.
  3. On choice Save locations, select list driver pada News app will save to
  4. Navigate to space drive a new one, for example 'D:'.

Some things to note when changing this configuration are:

  • We can only save apps to 1 location at a time.
  • We cannot save apps to network connected storage.
  • Only new applications are installed at that location. Existing applications are not moved.
  • When the storage is not connected then the application cannot be accessed
  • When the storage is not connected then the application to be installed will be placed to the standard configuration.
