Want Dota 2 Matches Shown on Local TV? Initials of this Petition

Shigeru Miyamoto once said, "Gamer is an artist who creates his own reality in the game." But for his millions of fans, Dota 2 is not just a canvas of imagination. It is the real world where they spend some of their time. And since The International first took place, event inspire many people.

Since its release two years ago, Dota 2 has proven that a career as a gamer Professionalism is no longer just wishful thinking. At its peak, fame and fortune await. Who doesn't want to win 'just' million dollar prizes by playing game? Seems to want to make eSports become more mainstream in Indonesia, a user Change.org named Higsweart Benetz started a petition to PT. Net Mediatama Indonesia.

Claiming to represent the local Dota 2 community, Higsweart Benetz appealed to the Net. TV to broadcast world-class tournaments that are reportedly starting in November 2015. Valve is changing tradition a bit in the conduct of the competition. The matches will be played back-to-back in different seasons, then lead to The International in Summer as its climax.

In order to simplify the explanation, the petitioner tries to provide a comparison between Dota 2 and sports in general, as well as from the large number of prizes. The teams there use pairs of players, such as football or basketball, to find a style of play that can lead them to be winners. For now, Dota 2 is the sport with the second largest prize pool, behind the World Series of Poker.

The broadcast of Dota 2 on Indonesian TV stations also opened up opportunities for broadcaster local to become known. So far they can only work through the site video sharing and live streaming, even though their quality is quite good. Higsweart Benetz hopes that Indonesian commentators can increase their reputation to the level of TobiWan, Merlini, GoDz and friends.

It's true that we can watch Dota 2 matches through streaming from Twitch, Hitbox, Azubu, YouTube, or via game. The problem is, some match requires you to buy a ticket in order to watch it.

"Seeing Net. TV as one of the television stations that provide many dynamic and contemporary programs, of course by broadcasting tournaments eSports this one will bring a new color to [Indonesian] television," said Higsweart Benetz.

At the time the article was written, the petition had received support from more than 12.800 people, the target was 15.000. Please sign via this link.
