Wahyoo Reported Acquisition of Startup Cloud Kitchen Foodstory

The entire Foodstory team will join in Wahyoo; brand under Foodstory will become the property Wahyoo

Culinary MSME digitalization startup Wahyoo rumored to have acquired the startup cloud kitchen Foodstory. No mention of the nominal transaction in the agreement. This strategic move was chosen in order to support ambition Wahyoo who want to get serious about cloud kitchen network "Wahyoo Kitchen Partners".

"All the Foodstory teams have now helped Wahyoo and the Foodstory brand has become the brand Wahyoo," said a trusted source DailySocial.id when asked for further confirmation, Tuesday (28/2).

The Foodstory concept intersects with Wahyoo. This startup founded by Dennish Tjandra and Charles Kwok carries a concept multi-brand F&B group who make, build, and operate several in-house brands in one kitchen. Similar to what Hangry did.

Since operating in 2021, counted seven brand under Foodstory, namely Gaaram, Lahab Chicken, Chicken Pao, Bowlgogi, Aidon, Soto Legenda, and Gaembull. The locations are claimed to be spread over more than 50 points around Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor and others.

In developing brand new and support the potential culinary industry, last year the company announced provision of investment funds, ecosystem support and an experienced team to help them keep growing. Brand Gaaram is one such realization.

Wahyoo Kitchen Partners

As for Wahyoo alone since November 2022 has expressed his ambition in building a network cloud kitchen as a new growth engine for the company. The company utilizes the existing culinary network (culinary MSME partners) coupled with the company's already qualified technological infrastructure.

Concept cloud kitchen adopted Wahyoo slightly different from most and a plus. The company has built partnerships with culinary MSMEs which have been part of the company so far. Culinary MSME Partners in Wahyoo can maximize the potential of its kitchen and existing employees, as long as it meets standards in terms of cleanliness and quality of cooking. There are 250 small restaurants from 27 thousand partners Wahyoo who have joined Wahyoo These Kitchen Partners.

"In particular, we want to help culinary MSMEs that are already in our network so that they don't have to spend any additional capital because they already have kitchens and employees. Because we are a sharing economy, in principle we really want to advance MSMEs," explained the Co-founder and CEO Wahyoo Peter Shearer.

So far Wahyoo, through the Tajir Group unit, has operated four private label food brands, namely Fried Duck Makes Tajir, Ayam Paduka, Bakso Bikin Tajir, and Happy Hatea. The entire supply of this product is in the form of pre-cook so that it doesn't take long to be processed by partners. As a result, the cooking process becomes more concise, a maximum of five minutes so that it reaches the consumer's house more quickly.

In its expansion into this new business, Wahyoo has secured additional fresh funding in a Series B round of $6,5 million led by Eugene Asia Food Tech Fund-1, the investment vehicle of Eugene Investment & Securities and South Korea's NH Absolute Return Partners. Other participating investors include Global Brains and Trinity Optima Plus (TOP+).
