KlinikGo's Efforts to Digitize Health Clinics After Pocketing Initial Funding

Funding comes from Risjadson Holding with the participation of Gaido Group and 5Digital Ventures

The pandemic that hit this country in early 2020 has created various limitations in society. One of them is social restrictions that require us to keep our distance and interact with each other. This applies to all public facilities including health facilities.

As market awareness increases, health technology service providers are increasingly focusing on product innovation. Sector healthtech help address challenges in Indonesia's healthcare system. One of which is ClinicGo, a technology company that offers added value to healthcare services in Indonesia

Formed in 2019, KlinikGo is an initiative development of services my nurse which focuses on the provision of health workers. The founder of KlinikGo, Ogy Winenriandhika, sees that there is a need for stakeholders, in this case health facilities, to be able to provide maximum service to end customer. The company here acts as a technology clinic chain aggregator that brings together all healthcare needs for patients into one platform.

"We started Klinikgo with a focus on being able to consolidate the demand side and lower product costs. We are the fastest growing clinic chain that aims to reduce product acquisition costs by working on the entire buying process using technology," explained Ogy.

Digitalization of Clinics in Indonesia

In running its business, KlinikGo has three main pillars, namely clinic digitalization, procurement, and financing. Regarding clinic digitization, the company offers services to help registered clinics increase traction. Besides that, it also provides a POS (Point of Sales) system to manage their sales. Everything has been integrated with the services previously available at KlinikGo.

Apart from that, the company also offers services procurement, his team will help not only in terms of procuring medical devices or health products, but also supply health workforce. In this case utilizing strategic cooperation with Nurseku. Furthermore, from a financing standpoint, KlinikGo also offers programs paylater cooperate with the company fintech Klikcair and Fund.

Asked about the challenges in running a business in this sector, Ogy revealed that digitalizing health facilities has a different approach from companies fintech or other. There are many regulations that accompany the development of this sector. However, the existence of the pandemic has loosened several regulations related to digital health services. KlinikGo itself has collaborated with the Ministry of Health and the Indonesian Telemedicine Association in this regard.

Apart from KlinikGo, there are several players who also offer similar solutions. Call it the Smart Clinic from Medigo which cooperates with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). In terms of digitizing hospitals, there are also startups healthtechZi. Care  which recently secured seed funding.

Funding and future plans

According to a report from KenResearch entitled Future Growth of Indonesia Health Tech Market which was released at the end of 2020, In the last 4-5 years, various digital health companies and digital health solutions have emerged in Indonesia. Indonesia's large and geographically dispersed population provides a strong user base for emerging digital health applications.

Ogy admitted, from the start of the pandemic, his team had been able to read the opportunities that existed and felt they had to take the opportunity to penetrate this market. At the end of 2020, the company managed to get a second round of funding from Risjadson Holding. Then, it was followed by Gaido Group and 5Digital Ventures in Q1 2021. It is known that the board of directors of 5Digital Ventures has also been involved in the Singapore health industry for a long time.

For about 2 years running, KlinikGo has had three sources of income. First, come from commission fee of the various services offered on the platform. Furthermore, the margin obtained from health products that are successfully sold. Then from the financing side, we also get a commission for each successful disbursement of funds.

Until now, KlinikGo has served more than 50 thousand patients and 10 thousand home care services. In addition, it has also distributed more than 300 shipments of health products and has more than 100 clinic partners. The target is to be able to digitize 1000 clinics throughout Indonesia starting from Q1 2022.
