The online loan service UangTeman announced its expansion plans to 15 new cities throughout Indonesia to realize its loan distribution target of Rp100 billion this year.

In order to realize this target, so far MoneyFriend has expanded to several areas, including Greater Jakarta, Jogja, Magelang, Solo, Klaten, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, and Bali. UangTeman is now starting to expand to Sumatra. The first city chosen was Palembang, followed by Jambi and Lampung.

Party MoneyFriend said the high number of loan applications that came in from Palembang over the past two years was a factor for companies to consider opening this access. For this city, it is targeted that the contribution of the disbursed loan amount can reach IDR 5 billion or 5% of the total target.

In addition, the development of micro-enterprises in Palembang was quite large because it was one of the high income earners. Until the first quarter of 2017, UangTeman claims to have disbursed loans amounting to Rp20 billion, growing 100% year-on-year (YoY) with a non-performing loan rate below 3%. The increase was due to the continuous development of technological innovations, making it easier to submit loan applications.

"From 2015 to 2016, the number of our customers grew by 300%. This resulted in a fourfold increase in loan disbursement of Rp35 billion.
