TurnPoint Offers World's First Tropical Tech Bootcamp

Hubbud (Hub-in-Ubud) as provider co-working space exotic in Ubud, Bali, will launch sister companies they TurnPoint next November. TurnPoint provides intensive learning opportunities for those who want to add value to life and work. Recently hosted by TurnPoint were techbootcamp with a tropical atmosphere which was attended by eight participants from all over the world.

By attending a bootcamp or intensive training, participants are expected to be able to improve their skills. Coupled with a pleasant environment, the course of a bootcamp is believed to be more comfortable so that focus is easier to obtain. This seems to be in tune with the services offered by TurnPoint.

The bootcamp activity held in Hubud provided an opportunity for participants to gain new experiences by working in a workspace surrounded by creative people in their fields. The learning activities organized by TurnPoint focus on technology, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and also design.

While the TurnPoint site isn't finished yet, they're already undergoing a series of bootcamp projects that will end this week. In collaboration with Ruby on the Beach, TurnPoint held a technology-themed bootcamp in a tropical setting for the first time in the world. Leaving the conventional way of working, this bootcamp is organized by creating the best environment for learning, coupled with technology, instructors, and curriculum that supports it.

The nine-week bootcamp was attended by eight participants and three mentors from Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore. This bootcamp trained participants to build a project using the Ruby on Rails framework that runs using the Ruby programming language.

“The class was very impressive. Studying for three weeks there is the same as spending three to six months if we study alone. In just three weeks, all parts of the class, the people, the flow of information, and others synergized to further advance our business,” said Will, one of the participants in the Ruby on The Beach bootcamp.

Not only improving skills from the technical aspect, this series of activities also improves social skills by building cooperation in small teams that are mentored by one supervisor. It will be interesting to see how the scheme will help advance local human resources which will indirectly improve the quality of startups in the country.
