Tokopedia Holds the START Women in Tech Conference Again, Presents Many Great Women in the Field of Technology

Tokopedia, through the Tokopedia Academy, will hold its annual technology conference, START Women in Tech, on Saturday. This event was held as Tokopedia's commitment to support the participation of women in the technology industry through a series of inspiring events.

START Women in Tech involved many great women who are technology experts in Indonesia as speakers, one of them was Leny Suwardi, SVP of Data Protection and Privacy Office of Tokopedia. Leny said, "As an Indonesian technology company, Tokopedia seeks to support the advancement of local digital talent, including female talent, and to form a collaborative ecosystem to accelerate the growth and development of the domestic technology industry."

In order to welcome the START Women in Tech event, Leny also shared tips for Indonesian women who want to have a career in the world of technology. There are 5 tips that Lenny conveyed, namely always developing skills, finding strengths, adapting flexibly, multitasking and the importance of 'Me Time'.

“We can learn for free through Tokopedia Academy. There are many topics that can be studied, ranging from technology, data, product design, entrepreneurship and many more,” added Leny.

Apart from Leny, other speakers who attended this annual technology conference were Ir. Suharti. MA, PhD, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology; Mira Tayyiba, ST, MSEE, Secretary General Kemenkominfo RI; Jamshed M.Kazi, Country Representative Indonesia & Liaison to ASEAN at UN Women; Megawaty Khie, Country Director of Google Cloud Indonesia; Melissa Siska Juminto, COO of Tokopedia; Catherine Sutjahyo, Chief Food Officer at Gojek Groups and many others.

Through this event, Leny hopes that START Women in Tech can empower Indonesia's digital talents, especially women, by providing opportunities to share experiences, broaden horizons as well as network in the technology industry to be able to compete globally.

The START Women In Tech event itself is supported by a number of partners, including Google Cloud Platform, Intel, Deloitte, New Relic, and Bank Bumi Arta.

START Women In Tech 2021 will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 09.30-16.00 WIB and broadcast live via Tokopedia Play, the Tokopedia Academy website, and YouTube Inside Tokopedia.
