Source: Tokopedia Is Involved in Funding for Sayurbox

Starting to circulate in the media in the last three months, we received confirmation from a trusted source that Tokopedia was indeed involved in funding for the Sayurbox fresh product e-commerce service. This news increases the competitive landscape of the unicorns to dominate the market. Previously, Tokopedia has confirmed acquisition of Bridestory.

Sayurbox is a startup agritech which focuses on empowering local farmers, selling them on the platform, and delivering them to delivery locations. This startup gets early stage funding from Patamar Capital in early 2018.

Currently Sayurbox joins as a participant in the program Grab Ventures Velocity second batch.

Its closest competitor, Limakilo, has been acquired Warung Pintar with an undisclosed value earlier this year. Through this acquisition, Warung Pintar partners can expand the supply of products at the best prices from Limakilo farmers. The products they sell will be more varied.

Play in the segment Grocery has a considerable challenge, because it requires special treatment of goods during shipping and storage to ensure the goods are still fresh when they reach the consumer.
