The Importance of Startups Capturing Momentum

It is important to capture good momentum to support startup growth

"Momentum is an impermanent thing, always going up and down. If you don't catch it at the best moment, you will lose it." - Nadiem Makarim, Co-Founder Gojek

Launching a startup can take months or even years to prepare. A lot of time is invested in customer interviews, building prototypes, collecting and implementing feedback, run pre-launch campaigns, meet investors, and more. Another important factor is paying attention to momentum. Make sure you launch the solution at the right time.

The importance of momentum is felt by the Co-Founder Gojek Nadiem Makarim.

In 2010-2011, he created Gojek with a simple solution using call center. The solution is not scalable because the more customers needed the more "middlemen" to take care of the work given. Gojek was dead for some time.

In 2015, the momentum came. The maturity of mobile applications and GPS technology marked by Uber's entry into Indonesia is the biggest momentum for Gojek. No need anymore call center to take care of all the work. The spirit of startups, mobile applications, and GPS solves this problem.

Gojek continue to rapidly diversify services. Not only transporting people Gojek has now evolved into an on-demand service for everything, including food delivery, grocery delivery, medicine delivery, and other goods delivery.

Everything becomes sweet history, because Gojek make optimal use of the momentum that comes.
