UK Joins Indonesia's Digital Ecosystem At "Tech To Impact 2021" Event To Address Climate Change, Cybersecurity and Inclusion

Through the pandemic, digital innovation continues to thrive. Digital solutions are expected to help solve various social problems around the world. The digital sector in Indonesia has had a positive impact in various fields such as education, health, and finance. With growing concerns about climate change and the environment, Indonesia sees technological solutions starting to address these problems.

To mark a year of successful work, and help Indonesian businesses cope with today's global threats, UK - Indonesia Tech Hub together with DailySocial presented a series of events entitled Tech to Impact which raises issues of climate change, cybercrime, and the potential for businesses to increase inclusion - in Indonesia's digital sector.

Tech to Impact 2021 will have three thematic webinars attended by digital industry players, where successes and challenges will be shared. The launch of the Webinar Series will take place on February 23, 2021 with the topic “Collaborative Innovation for a Better Nation” which will discuss how the digital sector can provide positive technological solutions to social problems such as climate change. This session will invite key industry players such as Piotr Jakubowski - Co Founder & Chief Growth Officer of Breath, Wynn Wijaya - CEO of Sinari Indonesia, and Rebekka Angelyn - Director of Rumah Energi with moderator Andini Effendi who will also be welcomed by HMA Owen Jenkins, British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste.

The series' events will continue into a second webinar which will take place on February 25, 2021 at 19.00 p.m. KST and will discuss ongoing concerns over cybersecurity - entitled “Smack the Hack: Creating The Best Strategy to Treat Any Cyber ​​Threat”. The discussion will lead to the importance of strategies to protect against future cyber attacks, from experts such as Freddie Mulyadi - KPMG and Ricky Setiadi - Head of Information Security at Blibli.com.

To conclude the Tech to Impact 2021 series, UK – Indonesia Tech Hub will hold a themed session "Accelerate Economic Empowerment with an Inclusive-Ready Business" on March 2, 2021 at 19:00 WIB. What is UKode Hackathon 2021?

UKode Hackathon is a Hackathon competition initiated by UK-Indonesia Tech Hub which aims to encourage creative new technology solutions.

What activities will be carried out in UKode Hackathon 2021?

The series of events in the UKode Hackathon Program include the Tech to Impact Anniversary event and the Webinar Series, which will be held on February 25, 2021 and March 2, 2021. What categories will be contested at UKode Hackathon 2021?

The hackathon competition categories that can be entered this year are climate change or climate change.

Participants are given the opportunity to submit a MAXIMUM of 3 ideas per team before the idea submission deadline closes.

Where should participants send their completed ideas?

Ideas that have been completed can be uploaded on the participant's account dashboard page through the "Ideation" feature. The committee does not provide ideas for sending via email or other means.

What benefits will you get if you take part in the "UKode Hackathon 2021"?

Can participants register more than one team?

You are only allowed to enter the competition using ONE UNIQUE ACCOUNT registered on the official website "DSBuild - UKode Hackathon 2021". For those who register as team participants, they can only join a maximum of 1 (one) team.

Does UKode Hackathon provide a custom API?

UK-ID Tech Hub does not provide special API for UKode Hackathon 2021 participants. Participants can use public API or create their own API.

When will the list of finalists be announced?

The selected participants will be announced on the official website: https://dailysocial.id/ and will be contacted by the organizer.

What are the steps that must be taken by participants to enter this competition?

There are several stages that must be passed by the participants, namely:

  1. LOGIN

  1. IDEAS COLLECTION

Participants are required to submit their application ideas for the UKode Hackathon 2021 selection process.

  1. IDEA SELECTION

The ideas that have been submitted by the participants will go through an idea selection process to be able to advance to the next stage.

  1. PARTICIPANT ANNOUNCEMENT

  1. JUDGING DAY

What are the evaluation criteria used to find finalists?

The assessment criteria will be assessed based on the following:

  • 1) Technical Capability (30%): Technical Viability based on documentation submitted.
  • 2) Product Usability (25%): The solution is ready to be implemented.
  • 3) Scalable Product (20%): Capability to be adapted & future potential development.
  • 4) Alignment with the Green Tech Challenges (25%)

What is the Tech to Impact Webinar series event?

To socialize the "UKode Hackathon 2021" a webinar series will be held with various topics of discussion.

This webinar series aims to improve participants' understanding, insight, and abilities in the field of data processing, as well as provide participants with the provisions to take part in the "UKode Hackathon 2021".

How long does it take to submit an idea?

The deadline for submitting ideas after registering is March 4, 2021. The sooner you submit ideas, the more time you will have to finalize ideas and revision time.
