Deadlines for vehicle service providers online to meet condition the Indonesian government is finished. After the due date, on May 31, to be exact, the government will take firm action against any online vehicle service fleet that does not meet the requirements. Even the Minister of Transportation, Ignasius Jonan, as reported by Kompas, admitted that he was ready to ground the vehicle if it was proven that it did not pass the KIR test but still forced it to operate.

"What if someone forces the road? If it is subject to inspection, the vehicle will be caged," said Jonan.

According to Jonan, this was done as an effort to discipline all public transportation, not just Uber or GrabTaxi which is a vehicle service online. Jonan also revealed that his party did not hesitate to revoke the business license of the violating company if up to 3 times it received a warning letter but still violated it.

However, of this number, only 419 vehicles have carried out the KIR test at least until May 31, 2016. Each PPRI has 195 vehicles, JTUB 205 vehicles, and Panorama Mitra Sarana 19 vehicles. And 53 of them were declared not to have passed the KIR test.
