Startup Weekend Bali will Focus on Creating Innovations in the Tourism Sector

Startup Weekend will be held again on the Island of the Gods. Initiated by Hubud Co-Working & Community Space, this event will take place on June 9-11 2017. In line with the theme raised "Tourism Edition", the Startup Weekend this time will focus on creating digital startups that focus on product innovation in the tourism sector.

According to the Hubud team, there is no reason to skip the theme. Data shows that in 2016 more than 5 million international tourists visited Bali. By Tripadvisor this year Bali was also included in the "World's Best Destination". It is hoped that the need for innovative ideas on how to promote sustainable and targeted tourism can be facilitated.

The concept of the Startup Weekend event is to provide opportunities for entrepreneur validate ideas and finalize concepts to begin with. The event will start with "open microphone", each participant has the right to convey his ideas in front of the audience. The presentation must be convincing, because there is also the opportunity to find team members to realize the idea.

On the following day, after the team is formed, the participants will focus on several stages, starting from re-validating their ideas, being taught the practice of Lean Startup methodology and developing Minimal Viable Products. After that the team will make a presentation in front of the experts presented. Some of them are Rui Wang (Pre-Sales and Consulting Manager of Amadeus Asia), Augustine Merriska (Community and Impact Director Plus), and Ria Templer (Main Founder of Spice).

For 54 hours the teams of technical and non-technical specialists will think about their product. accompanied by 12 selected mentors.
