Woobiz Social Commerce Platform Aspires to Improve the Quality of Life of Indonesian Women

A platform that categorizes itself as social commerce, Woobiz, has a mission to empower Indonesian women, especially housewives, to improve their quality of life and be financially independent. Currently there are 750 partners who have joined and around 50-100 users have started to actively sell.

Woobiz was founded by Putri Noor Shaqina, Rorian Pratyaksa, Josua Sloane, and Hendy Wijaya in December 2018. Platform still under construction beta version it offers access to technology for Indonesian women to become micro-entrepreneurs. One of them is to connect partners, who are mostly housewives, with brand.

By becoming a partner, users will gain access to a wide range of curated products, ranging from Skincare, make-up, hijab, to snacks. Most of the products offered are local, such as Kedaung Home, Rabbani, Dear Me Beauty, Orang Tua, Kimbo, but there are also several brands from outside such as Celebon, Foccalure, and JM solution.

From here, they can start distributing their goods through social neighborhood communities. Woobiz also provides a commission that will be disbursed as soon as the order is received.

Woobiz Chief Growth and Marketing Putri Noor Shaqina stated, "In our ecosystem, partners or users will sell using social neighborhood community channel and we support it with features for social sharing by online."

In addition, Woobiz also offers access and space for the community to grow, providing training in selling, communicating, and managing income.

Several community education actions were promoted, such as the Wooniversity roadshow program, aimed at supporting Indonesian women to inspire each other. One of their campaigns is #SuperwomenMovements involving women from all over Indonesia to share success stories. The focus is currently still on the Greater Jakarta area, but will continue to expand its reach to the surrounding area.

"Financial independence is our big goal, our spearhead lies with individuals and communities who want to strive for prosperity and a more valuable life."

In terms of funding, Woobiz has received funding since the end of 2018. For business monetization, it claims to have also received a share of the products that were successfully distributed. So far, they have collaborated with third parties who have logistics infrastructure.

"In the future, we plan to strengthen ourselves, build hub or pickup point." added Putri.
