Sleekr Officially Consolidates with Three Startups, "Rebranding" Becomes Mekari

No details on investment value related to M&A

Sleekr, a SaaS startup for HR-based solutions cloud, announced the new name Mekari which is the result of consolidation (in the form of M&A) with SaaS startup Talenta, Journal, and Klikpajak. It is expected that the business will grow four times from the consolidation, in line with the increasing productivity of SME businesses as consumers.

Mekari CEO Suwandi Soh, previously CEO of Sleekr, said, this consolidation process has begun since last year gradually and received support from investors. However, he was reluctant to divulge further regarding the investment value of the M&A series.

On the board of directors of Mekari, Journal's CEO Daniel Witono now serves as Mekari's CPO, while Journal's COO Anthony Kosasih is now Mekari's COO. Total employees after the merger reached 360 people.

Citing data Kemenkominfo, currently MSMEs that really take advantage of digital technology have only touched 6,5 million businesses out of a total of 59,2 million MSMEs throughout Indonesia.

"Mekari, through this merger, is here to provide a complete and solid solution for SMEs. After consolidation, we want to build awareness for digital, it is still very low, only 9%-10% of SMEs (Deloitte's study) have used digital access," explained Suwandi, Wednesday (10/4).

Next plan

In the early stages, Mekari will focus on integrating the services of all startups into one platform, so that the consumer experience will be much better seamless pattern. Everything will be done in stages and is expected to be completed this year.

Furthermore, the Mekari platform will be designed as platform-as-a-service (PaaS) is integrated with other technology startups that are considered to be able to provide added value for consumers.

Talent, focus on Money HRIS facilitates business through payroll automation and HR management. Sleekr, a modern, intuitive employee management solution for growing companies.

Meanwhile, Jurnal is a business software that facilitates financial management and business bookkeeping. Finally, Klikpajak, a tax management application for personal and business. Klikpajak was only established at the beginning of the year and has received support from the Directorate General of Taxes of Indonesia as the with official permission.

"Each product has its own advantages and there are many innovations that we can continue to develop from there. There are many products that we have planned to release this year. Maybe one or two of them will be announced at the Mekari Conference."

The results of this consolidation increase the scope of target consumers from various business scales. Without mentioning detailed figures, Suwandi said, Mekari has hundreds of thousands of users who come from tens of thousands of companies.

Subscription fees at Mekari are quite diverse, depending on what services consumers need, ranging from Rp. 20 thousand per head for Sleekr services, to Rp. 200 thousand for accounting services from Jurnal.

Sleekr is under the auspices of MidPlaza Holdings. Last year the company received an investment from Money Forward with an undisclosed amount. In 2016, Sleekr acquired SaaS startup Kiper.
