In the investment world, there are two types of stocks that we often hear about, one of which is Islamic stocks. What are Islamic stocks and what are the lists of Islamic stocks?

Quoted from Indonesia stock exchange (IDX), sharia shares are securities in the form of shares that have sharia or Islamic principles in the capital market. In Indonesia, the list of sharia shares is easy to find and many have been registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

After knowing the meaning and types of sharia shares, then what are the lists of sharia shares that can be sold and bought in Indonesia?

Sharia Stock List

The Indonesia Stock Exchange has recorded 30 lists of sharia shares in the ISSI (Indonesian Sharia Stock Index). 

The following is a list of Islamic stocks that you can choose for: long term investment.

  2. Aneka Tambang Tbk. (ANTM)
  3. Astra International Tbk. (ASII)
  4. Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA)
  5. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI)
  6. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI)
  7. State Savings Bank (Persero) Tbk. (BBTN)
  8. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI)
  9. Barito Pacific Tbk. (BRPT)
  10. Bukalapak.com Tbk. (OPEN)
  11. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPIN)
  12. Eagle Mahkota Teknologi Tbk. (EMTK)
  13. XL Axiata Tbk. (EXCL)
  14. Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk. (ICBP)

In the Indonesian capital market, Islamic stocks are divided into two.

  • Shares that are declared to meet the selection criteria for sharia shares based on OJK regulations Number 35/POJK.04/2017 concerning Criteria and Issuance of Sharia Securities Lists.
  • Shares listed as sharia shares by issuers or sharia public companies based on OJK regulations no. 17/POJK.04/2015. 

Sharia Stock Index 

ISSI or Islamic stock index is an indicator of the performance of the Indonesian Islamic stock market and is listed on the IDX. 

Then there are also what are referred to as ISSI constituents, namely the entire list of sharia shares listed on the IDX and also included in the Sharia Securities List issued by the Financial Services Authority.

Within a year, ISSI's constituents will be selected twice, in each of May and November. So that every one period, there must be sharia shares that come in and out of ISSI's constituents.

Some of the Islamic stock indices include:

Jakarta Islamic Index (JII)

It is the first sharia index to be presented in 2000, consisting of 30 sharia stocks that have liquidity and are listed on the IDX. You can see the list of 30 sharia shares above.

Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII70)

The Jakarta Islami Index 70 sharia stock index was launched in 2018. As the name implies, this sharia stock index consists of 70 lists of sharia shares and every year there are two stock index selections.

 IDX-MES BUMN 17

The last sharia stock index is IDX-MES BUMN 17, which is owned by State-Owned Enterprises, this stock index consists of 17 lists of sharia stocks that have good liquidity with large market capitalization. This stock index is also a collaboration between the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Islamic Economic Community (MES).
