Ruangguru Launches Tutoring "Brain Academy"

Educational startups Ruangguru launched tutoring (bimbel) Brain Academy. The Bimbel will later combine technology with face-to-face learning processes to maximize learning activities with students.

Ruangguru is currently one of the top education startups in Indonesia. Starting to develop since 2014, they currently have approximately 300.000 private teachers with a total of 13 million registered users.

Brain Academy is open to students in grades 4 SD to 12 SMA. Currently, there are 10 cities in Indonesia, namely Medan, Pekanbaru, Palembang, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya and Malang.

The concept of Brain Academy is claimed to be different from regular tutoring. They utilize technology to optimize the teaching and learning process. Every student who joins will get a diagnostic test in each session. The results will be the basis for recommendations on which learning materials can be studied.

Students who join will also receive materials and online tryout in a digital format that is claimed to make the learning process more interactive, personal, and can be monitored accurately. Besides that Brain Academy also promises self-development material outside of school lessons including: critical thinking, communications, problem solving, leadership, technological literacy, and others and provides a convenient location with complete facilities, such as creative studios, cafeterias, to prayer rooms.
