Quipper Launches Super Teacher, Still Focusing on Using Video Formats

Team up with celebrities and tutors who have previously joined Quipper

Seeing the trend of video and its increasingly widespread use among students, the Quipper edutech platform presents a series of features that prioritize video. To DailySocial on the sidelines of the launch of the Super Teacher program, Quipper Indonesia Country Manager Takuya Homma claimed, with videos students not only enjoyed the learning process becoming more interesting, but proved to be able to increase students' interest and concentration.

The newest service that Quipper presents itself is Super Teacher. Collaborating with celebrities and tutors who have previously joined Quipper, Super Teacher can help students learn more about a material, putting forward focus group discussions. Not only studying formulas or lessons in writing, through Super Teacher students are invited to think more critically, discuss a problem with an analytical and trial approach.

Quipper Video is still a favorite

Currently, the Quipper Video service that students can enjoy is Master Class, an option to learn more in-depth directly from a tutor. There is also online tutoring that can be used by students who want to find out more, what university majors are suitable for students, budget to be prepared, and other support provided coach from Quippers.

"We've done a lot of experiments and it turns out that video is one of Quipper's favorite features right now. Students prefer watching videos live, we also provide a place to accommodate student questions (question bank), and we've been experimenting with what kind of videos are the students' favourites."

All of these services can be enjoyed by students by subscribing per year, starting from IDR 790 thousand to IDR 1.190.000. Currently Quipper has about 200 thousand students registered as customers.

"Although it is very affordable, [..] we also have plans to reduce the subscription fee to reach more subscribers. Currently we note that students who subscribe are more diligent in studying compared to how to study for free," said Takuya.

Video format localization

Then Quipper will start creating original content that combines animation and conventional teaching and learning methods in the form of videos. According to Takuya, this process can help students who like the video format, by adding animations that are relevant to the lesson. Video is also one of Quipper's focuses in the future to reach more students who subscribe to its platform.

"Basically students watch videos and study basic concepts, then they need to do the exercises and not just watch the video. All programs, videos and formats are made in Indonesia, not from Japan. We deliberately do this to adjust the customs of each country. Currently Quipper is already operating in the Philippines, Japan and Mexico," said Takuya.
