Qraved Books "Seed Funding" from Rebright Partners Consortium, 500 Startups and Co-Founder Skype Toivo Annus

Qraved, booking site (booking) and social networks related to restaurants/eateries, managed to get seed funding from a consortium consisting of Rebright Partners, well-known investors in Silicon Valley 500 startups and Toivo Annus (co-founder Skype). Amount seed funding received itself is not disclosed to the public. For Toivo and Rebright Partners, this investment is not the first time because they have previously invested in Indonesia. As for 500 Startups, Qraved is their first investment in the country.

Guaranteed to get seed funding this was revealed to the public in Jakarta on 5 September by its three founders, namely Adrian Li, Steven Kim and Sean Liao. These three people have worked in the startup world in Indonesia, including by establishing Adapted, Airizu, KbooM! Games, Pinspire, Wimdu, Zalora, OfficeFab and Imaginato. A number of familiar startup names do point to companies founded by Rocket Internet.

Adrian in his press release said, "Qraved itself was launched to overcome the problems that many people often face when they want to downloadbook restaurants, i.e. telephones that are constantly busy or not picked up and possible miscommunication, by providing service online booking instant in more than 2.500 Jakarta restaurants."

According to Adrian, the founders of Qraved really understand the needs of food connoisseurs, because they themselves are foodaholics.

Qraved wants to make the dining experience more visual and interesting, where this site also provides social features such as Sharing and Qraving food photos whose concept is to become Pinterest for food. Users can also-follow other users.

Following this confirmation, the team is currently developing a site which is planned to enter a phase beta launch less than 60 days left. Sean, who is in charge of Product Development by a team based in China, said: “Some businesses today are having trouble finding developer reliable, while we now have a team engineering experienced and ready to work."

Team building engineering in China this was deliberately done to overcome the limitations of experts in the Southeast Asian region.

Although this product is only about to be launched, Qraved, which only started operating last August, has received enthusiastic responses from restaurants that want to join. The reason is that the competition in the restaurant sector is getting tighter so that restaurant owners are constantly looking for ways to promote their business.

"Restaurants have expressed their strong interest in joining our service. Their consideration is mainly from a marketing and operational perspective, as they continue to look for ways to gain more customers and operate more effectively," said Steven.

Qraved is currently still focusing on the Jakarta market, but by the end of this year it will also cover Bali and Surabaya. Moreover, they will be launching apps for iOS and Android soon.
