Qlue Business Claims Up 70% Last Year, Solution Used in Various Countries

80% of the main income is supported by partnerships with the government sector, the rest from the private sector 20%

Ecosystem solution provider startup smart city Qlue said the overall business grew by 70% compared to the previous year, exceeding the initial target of 50%. The pandemic is a factor behind the increasing implementation of digitalization and the use of solutions smart city increasingly crucial for business continuity.

Qlue Co-Founder and CEO Rama Raditya said, the integration of solutions smart city with the needs during the pandemic can help keep the wheels of the economy running, by complying with the applicable health protocols. This is also in line with the current business trend, which is also developing towards minimal-touch and face-to-face operations.

"Qlue's ability to read market trends is also the main foundation in Qlue's innovation and development of sustainable solutions," he said, Wednesday (31/3).

At the beginning of last year, the company actually had a number of technology development plans. However, the pandemic took place, which eventually changed the company's plans and took the initiative to develop new solutions related to it. One of them is the QlueApp citizen reporting application, adding six new report categories related to Covid-19 and becoming a strategic partner of Pilkada Watch.

In addition, the IoT product line develops QlueThermal to detect body temperature, use a mask, and is equipped with an attendance feature. "The next development can also be adapted to market needs so that it can be used for attendance systems, access control, and integration with RFID," added Qlue Co-Founder and CTO Andre Hutagalung.

QlueThermal has now entered the development of the second version and is in preparation for the third version which will be released in May 2021. One of its users is PT Pertamina (Persero).

So far Qlue has six products smart city. Besides QlueThermal, there are QlueApp, QlueWork, QlueVision, QlueSense, and QlueDashboard. Each of these products has a function, for example QlueWork is used by field workers to follow up on reports sent by QlueDashboard.

Rama said that the Qlue solution succeeded in attracting his party to bring overseas and implemented it there. It is said that obtaining awards from abroad and participating in various accelerator programs and global networks are one of the supporting factors behind the massive movement of Qlue solutions globally.

According to one of the studies he cited, the potential for smart city Globally, in 2025, it is predicted to reach $820 billion with a growth of 14,8% per year. “Our main market is still Indonesia because the opportunities here are still very big, but being able to expand globally is also one of our targets. The hope is that it will become more global, even though most of the projects are still in Asia.”

Some locations that have taken advantage of the Qlue solution are Singapore, the Philippines, China, Japan, India, Russia, Australia, two countries on the European continent, and four countries in the Americas. In Indonesia alone, there are more than 75 cities that have taken advantage of the solution, with the addition of 43 cities in 2020 alone.

The number of Qlue clients last year rose 32% to 133 companies from the previous 101 companies. Meanwhile, the growth of partners and channels to distribute solutions rose by 20% to 126 partners from the previous 105 partners.

Qlue's clients come from the government sector with a composition of 70% and the remaining 30% private. Last year, the government sector also dominated but the composition was 55% against the private sector 45%. If you look at the composition of Qlue's revenue sources, the government sector contributes 80% of the total and the remaining 20% ​​comes from the private sector.

Qlue President Maya Arvini said that the business sectors that took advantage of Qlue's solutions during the pandemic were quite varied, some from property, hospitals, retail banking, hotels, the entertainment industry to central and regional government agencies.

Solution smart city latest

Andre continued that this year the company will continue to develop supporting solutions smart city others that have been planned in the work plan. There are two solutions that have been prepared, namely Smart Environment which is focused on improving air quality and Smart Traffic Management to increase mobility in urban areas.

Regarding the second solution, he continued, later traffic lights will be powered by AI technology to read the latest traffic situation. The duration of the lights will be more flexible depending on the number of vehicles, no longer determined by schedule.

The solution has been tested in two locations, one of which is in Alam Sutera. It is claimed, Qlue is able to reduce congestion levels at crossroads by up to 25%. “This traffic light is also to regulate pedestrians so as to reduce the risk of accidents. We will work more closely with DISHUB to use this solution.”

In addition, Qlue is developing a platform to make it easier to use AI solutions so that they can be reached by SME to large-scale businesses according to their individual needs. The solution is planned to be released within this year.
