The "Fight for Access" Program for Impactful Startup Nets from Female Founders

Also providing $25k pre-seed equity funding for selected startups

After launching in South Africa, Brazil and the UK, the Fight for Access Accelerator Program formalizes its presence in Indonesia. The accelerator program initiated by Reckitt and the Health Innovation and Investment Exchange (HIEx), provides opportunities for activists female startups to become a catalyst for social entrepreneurship innovation to improve the quality of health in Indonesia.

"Fight for Access Accelerator is our effort to identify and support startup activists to create innovative solutions with various players in the healthcare ecosystem," said HIEx CEO Pradeep Kakkattil.

To realize this program, Reckitt and HIEx are working closely with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and other development partners to solve unique problems and challenges in the Southeast Asian region. Through the Fight for Access Accelerator, Reckitt and HIEx make the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) the main focus, which is to ensure a healthy life and create a prosperous life.

"We believe that when we empower women, we empower the whole family and society at large. This is what drives us to place women's empowerment at the core of this program; to ensure that founders women have a place where they are heard and valued. Most importantly, they will also be assisted to bring about the changes the world needs," said Reckitt Indonesia President Director Srinivasan Appan.

$25 thousand equity investment

This program is open to all women-led startups, by registering via official site which has been prepared. The 20 best applicants will be selected based on four indicators: impact, operational scalability, innovation, and financial sustainability. During the judging session, participants were given the opportunity to present their business and roadmap for one year.

After going through this process, 6 startups will be selected to join the accelerator program. This includes access to bootcamps, mentoring, and funding aimed at addressing barriers to growth and driving positive outcomes in the health sector. Global experts, including Reckitt health and hygiene experts from across its lines of business, will share their knowledge of the specific challenges faced by each participant.

Not only that, each winner will receive a $25 equity investment from the Reckitt Fight for Access Fund, upon passage due diligence. Another support provided to the Fight for Access cohort is that, after one year, impact evaluation and measurement will be carried out to create sustainable success.
