Post Funding, Indotrading Focuses on Developing Technology in the Mobile and Big Data Sector

Indotrading obtains Series A funding of $1,5 million from a number of investors led by OPT SEA

Business directory platform Indotrading announced the acquisition of Series A funding of $1,5 million (close to 20 billion Rupiah) from a number of investors led by OPT SEA, Japan's OPT Group investment company for the Southeast Asia region. Indotrading will use this funding to improve technology in the mobile and big data sectors.

This is the second funding that the company has received in the last two years. Previously they obtained seed funding from Rebright Partners about 1,5 years ago. In this funding, Golden Gate Ventures, GMO Venture Partners, Convergence Accel, and Aucfan also participated. Rebright Partners, which are existing investors, also participated in the funding this time.

To DailySocial, CEO Indotrading Handy Chang ensured that after this funding, his party will focus on the technology sector. He said, "We will focus on technology anyway. Improve in mobile access. Improve in big data because we will have a lot of data very."

In 2015, Handy revealed that Indotrading is targeting to get traffic and the number of registered companies to be doubled compared to the previous year.

As a directory platform, they currently have 12.000 registered companies in Indonesia and most of them are SMEs. Indotrading targets SMEs, most of which do not have an adequate website, because these SMEs can use data registered in Indotrading when introducing their business online.

Indotrading revealed that the SME market (registered) in Indonesia has reached 22 million and there are still many untapped opportunities.

Regarding the acquisition of funding from OPT, Handy said, "We are very happy to get OPT and all other investors in this round so that we can build meaningful partnerships, including as a place for us to learn. Now we have obtained investors from three different countries, Japan, Indonesia , and Singapore. All of these investors have different business assets and expertise in different regions. I believe this can help (Indotrading) to build a stronger business."

OPT SEA CEO Ryukichi Iwakiri added, "We are very excited to join Indotrading expansion journey by leveraging our expertise and knowledge in digital marketing with various clients in Asia."
