PopBox Presents Smart Locker Service for Laundry Service On Demand

After establishing a partnership with an e-commerce service, Pay by QR payment channel from Dimo to Pertamina's gas station, PopBox smart locker service again presents the latest service for the people of Indonesia, namely PopBox on demand, specifically for clothes and shoe laundry services. The service, which was officially introduced in early 2017, is a service that targets young working couples who live who don't have enough time to wash clothes and shoes on weekdays.

"The concept is to give convenience for our users especially those who live in apartments to do laundry. So they don't have to bother looking for a laundry place or waiting for a laundry courier to arrive to pick up the goods, they can drop alone any time and pick up again after the laundry is done any time too,” said PopBox co-founder Greta Bunawan to DailySocial.

Facilities drop-off and pick up PopBox

The way laundry on demand works by using a PopBox locker is quite easy. Users just need to choose a laundry and shoe washing service that has now joined PopBox, namely taptopick and Tayaka specifically for clothes laundry and Omaisu specifically for shoe washing services. The laundry and shoe washing services from PopBox currently only serve the Jakarta and Bandung areas.

After the choice has been determined by the PopBox application and the payment has been made, the user can immediately deliver the clothes and shoes they want to clean at various PopBox smart lockers spread across Jakarta and its surroundings. According to the scheduled time, clothes and shoes that have been cleaned can be immediately picked up by the user at the locker PopBox.

“Before launching this feature, we have made preparations with each partner for several months through the integration process, UAT and QA/QC to ensure the process is running well and as of January 2017 we launch together," Greta said.

All scheduling processes until payment are submitted to each partner. In this case PopBox only serves as a place to drop off and pick up all the services selected by the user. In addition to ordering through the application, this on-demand laundry service can also be ordered via the desktop.

“Our target is to provide new convenience for PopBox users, expand user demographics, increase the number of PopBox users who have only been using PopBox for logistics features. We hope that in the future the PopBox smart locker will become a one stop solution that has multiple functions such as logistics, payments, and other online-to-offline (O2O) features," concluded Greta.
