Pockets of Initial Funding, Smart Point Focuses on Developing Quality Children's Learning Content

Funding was obtained from the Indonesia Women Empowerment Fund, jointly managed by Moonshot Ventures and YCAB Ventures

Startups EdTech Titik Pintar announces that it has secured stage funding pre seed at an undisclosed value earlier this year. This funding is one of the first investments from the Indonesia Women Empowerment Fund (IWEF), a fund that aims to create social impact and is jointly managed by Moonshot Ventures and YCAB Ventures.

Previous, Smart Point also received grants from the Dutch Government as well as investments from a number of angel investors. Titik Pintar is also a graduate of DSLaunchpad, a virtual startup acceleration program initiated by DailySocial.

To DailySocial, The founder & CEO of Titik Pintar, Robbert Deusing, said that in the short term, the funding will be used to improve product quality. They also want to deliver more quality content, namely by launching Sahabat Pintar, where teachers, designers, and animators can collaborate to create quality content.

"We aim to gather the best content creators, to continue to produce content while maintaining its quality. We are currently building features multiplayer, which will provide challenges for users so that they are more and more interested. We also got a lot of good feedback about this new feature," said Robbert.

apart multiplayer, another product that will be developed is an online consultation session online with the teacher. The teachers will later help the children who have difficulty continuing the game by giving more explanations. Titik Pintar will provide information about the child's learning process, so teachers can see what needs to be improved. They can also earn additional income with this consultation session.

"For Sahabat Pintar, we are limiting the number of teachers to 25 people, so we can focus on the quality of the content and make sure we're doing the right thing. We'll try to slowly add up to 1000 teachers to start with," said Robbert.

The next long-term mission of Titik Pintar is to make learning fun for all children in Indonesia. By providing content that is accessible from anywhere for everyone and can improve learning outcomes for all Point Smart users.

Currently, Titik Pintar has 10 thousand active users every month. During the pandemic, the company experienced positive growth. With the increasing number of activities online, many parents then trust the platform to make learning more fun for elementary school children during the pandemic and after.

"The famous players that are already out there are targeting students at a higher level. We focus on elementary school students. Gamification is also in our DNA, and is the right learning method for children, namely learning while playing," said Robbert.
