[Game Playlist] Have You Tried No Man's Sky?

Once started, No Man's Sky immediately processes the virtual universe, placing players on one of the planets at random - with no menus, intros or character recognition.

No Man's Sky is one of the game The most anticipated of 2016 for a number of reasons: Hello Games' ambition to create games procedural generation largest, as well as the premise of an epic adventure towards the center of a virtual universe containing 18 quintillion planets. In this Game Playlist article, I try to express the impression of trying No Man's Sky based on the experience of playing it for several hours.

Despite expectations gamer So high, No Man's Sky is actually a game created by an independent studio. Sony Interactive Entertainment only helps developer on the side marketing. If you look at it from this perspective, you can forgive any shortcomings game, both in terms of content and technical. You'll be disappointed if you expect a game like The Elder Scrolls or Far Cry.

Once the game starts, No Man's Sky immediately processes the virtual universe, placing you on one of the planets at random - no menus, intro or character recognition. One thing that game The explanation is: you are lost, and your spaceship is stranded in an unfamiliar place. The only clue is a polygon object named Atlas, mysteriously present to guide the player.

The location of my first stop was the planet Tavindalett, a rocky place rich in flora and fauna. Everything seemed normal and harmless, except for the scorching sun - capable of burning the spacesuit, forcing me to repair it from time to time and seek cover. Your first task is to repair the landing system and the engines of the spaceship, armed with the resources of the planet.

Without a tutorial, No Man's Sky is a little confusing, but thanks to tweaking the menus inventory, slowly I learned crucial things, for example: system life support and laser guns can be refilled with isotopes such as carbon or plutonium; then other devices can be repaired with a combination of oxide or silicate elements. Don't worry, it's simpler than you think.

Seeing the vast expanse of the planet, the temptation to explore is hard to resist. Most of my time is spent collecting resource and take a walk towards point of interest, shown by icon '?'. In these places, I find abandoned buildings (or laboratories), suitable for shelter, until monolith a giant belonging to the Gek Dominion nation, 'the lord of the galaxy and the lord of the universe'. Activating the object gave my character knowledge of Gek.

You can also 'make friends' with local fauna, the only way is to chase and give them food. After that, you can see a smiley face indicator each time you hover over the species, indicating they have been tamed.

Unfortunately I haven't met any giant dinosaur-like animals like the ones on display here game trailers. Then so far, the life-threatening things are my own stupidity - forgetting to gather resources to repair space suits and forget the dangers of heights - as well drone Sentinel. These flying robots suddenly attacked while I was harvesting carbon material, quite annoying because they would try to call for help.

It took dozens of hours to unravel all the secrets within No Man's Sky, and I'm sure I've only barely touched the surface. But even though you've only played for a while, without any meaningful interaction with NPCs, don't be surprised if you immediately feel lonely and isolated.
