KaryaKarsa Platform and Efforts to Empower Creative Workers

Make it easy for fans to contribute to creators; currently under development

Become a place for fans to appreciate the work of creators, that's the platform KaryaKarsa introduced. Initiated by Ario Tamat, the person behind Ohdio and Wooz.in, the platform carries the spirit of "power to create". His goal is to help creative content developers to keep working from fan appreciation in the form of tips or subscriptions.

KaryaKarsa has a similar concept to Patreon, which has already succeeded in helping 70 creators connect with their fans. Their essence is to make it easier for viewers to contribute in the form of money so that they can help the income of the creators they enjoy.

"The idea of KaryaKarsa itself has been circling in my head since 2 years ago, one of the ideas that I think should be tried for the music industry. endorsement sponsor, gig or sell merchandise," explained Ari.

KaryaKarsa will facilitate creativity in the fields of music, video, audio, illustration, animation, to experts in certain fields. In the future, Ario hopes to support as many works as possible, the most important thing being consistent production and having a fan base.

"The target users are, of course, creators with a base fans, although it is possible for new creators to build a base fans. We want to provide an alternative way for creators to make money. Pain points what we want to aim for: ease of transaction that does not depend on the 'production' of a work, but rather on supporting a creative life. Forming a more predictable revenue stream for creators," explains Ario.

Funding contribution via e-money

KaryaKarsa understands that technology can be a solution for the foundation of this initiative. The platform allows creators to create accounts that will later become bridges with their fans. Some of the features offered include the flexibility to set the level of funding that can be provided.

To maintain interaction, creators can also offer exclusive content that can only be accessed through KaryaKarsa at a certain level of funding. Or you can offer other activities such as fan meetings, mini concerts and other interactions. To facilitate the funding process, KaryaKarsa takes advantage of the facilities offered by e-money, such as Go-Pay and Ovo.

"By contributing through creator-managed funding tiers, fans can enjoy whatever the creator has set up for each of those levels. Considering that the interaction between fans and creators are of a wide range, types and dynamics, we choose to focus on facilitating transactions between fans and creators first."

Still in development stage

To build KaryaKarsa, Ario was assisted by Pandji Pragiwaksono and Aria Rajasa as advisors. The platform itself is currently still in the research and development stage and continues to wait for input and suggestions from many parties.

"For now, we want to focus on data research and building the system, to be able to launch in 2019 with several creators. We want to make sure that this concept will be healthy, growing and sustainable," concluded Ario.
