Lokatani Receives Pre-Seed Funding from Asiapay Capital and Jakarta Ventura

Funding will be used to support increased production and technology development

Lokatani, startup agritech which focuses on developing hydroponic vegetables, succeeded in getting funding pre seed from Asiapay Capital and Jakarta Ventura (Jakvent). The funding will be used to increase production capacity, develop internet-based agricultural technology, and expand distribution and marketing networks.

Founded in 2019 and starting to monetize the business in 2020, Lokatani has built an integrated supply chain ecosystem from upstream to downstream. This aims to ensure that the hydroponic vegetable farmers they support can meet high production standards.

Lokatani's main products include Loka Fresh which provides high quality fresh vegetables on a regular basis on-demand, Loka Grow which focuses on empowering farming communities through schemes co-farming, as well as Loka Tech which is an integrated application with IoT technology for monitoring agricultural process automation and inventory management.

Lokatani Co-Founder & CEO Abdul Choliq explained that this funding will strengthen various aspects of Lokatani's operations. "This funding is aimed at increasing production capacity, developing internet-based agricultural technology, expanding distribution networks, marketing and developing human resources. This support allows Lokatani to continue to align real-time crop production with customer demand using integrated applications," he said .

Lokatani's "On-Demand Order" approach allows production to be more efficient and in line with customer demand. Apart from that, the "Scheduled Planting" system implemented is key in maintaining supply stability both in terms of quality and quantity, with the support of IoT technology.

Rizki Maarif, Venture Investor Team & Research Lead at Asiapay Capital, said that this investment is in line with Asiapay's mission to encourage financial inclusion in the agricultural sector. "Value chain built by Lokatani helps solve the problem of fragmentation in the agricultural supply chain, especially in the hydroponics sector. "We hope to bring our expertise in payment infrastructure to provide a positive impact for hydroponic farmers," said Rizki.

Jakarta Ventura Main Director Chrisantina Lunaryati, added that Lokatani has an important role in supporting the farming community. "Lokatani not only functions as an aggregator, but also guides and supports the farming community, especially hydroponic vegetable farmers. We hope that this community can continue to develop and progress with Lokatani," he said.

This funding is expected to create a significant positive impact on the hydroponic agricultural sector in Indonesia, as well as support Lokatani's vision of building a more efficient, sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.
