Definition of Organization

The definition of an organization is a container for a group of people who work together rationally and systematically to achieve certain goals by using the resources in them.

Whereas in the business world, an organization is a group of people who work together to achieve business goals, with a clear structure and a specific work culture.

According to Prof. Dr. Sondang P. Siagian, organization is a form of alliance between two or more people who work together and are formally bound in the framework of achieving predetermined goals and in that bond there is a person or group of people called subordinates.

Organizational Elements

To manage an organization optimally, it is necessary to implement the basic elements within the organization itself.

When these elements are perfect, the organization can function properly. Here are some elements that must exist in an organization:

1. Members of the organization, consisting of administrators who manage the organization in general, supervisors who manage certain units according to their field of work, and people who work under the leadership. This designation is usually adapted for all types of organizations

2. Collaboration is an important part of the organization, with good cooperation organizational goals can be achieved together. With this, the number of members helps to facilitate the organization of work parts to achieve better cooperation

3. Organizational goals guide the organization's journey in determining the activities to be carried out later

4. The environment, such as social, cultural, economic, and technological conditions, becomes a support for achieving the given organizational goals.

5. Equipment is a facility such as material, budget, and other capital goods that can become a place of work or a gathering place for an organization.

6. Communication definitely has a big impact on how well each member of the organization can work together. Good communication really supports the development of the organization in accordance with optimally organized work processes.

Organization Form:

1. There are two groups in line and staff organizations, namely those who carry out the main tasks of the organization to achieve goals and people who work according to their respective departments. In general, the division of labor is more focused and does not only come from the top leadership of the organization.

2. The line organization is the simplest with the least number of members with the highest management, then there are other members who do the work according to the specified department.

3. Functional organization, there is a division of executive tasks given by a higher authority in such a way that lower members only need to receive instructions and can even receive several instructions at once.

4. Organizational committees, or commonly referred to as committees to which certain powers are delegated and negotiated to decide on various issues related to the activities of the organization to achieve its goals.
