OLX Indonesia Announces "Titip Sell" Feature and Increase in Number of Users

Don't have a new CEO yet

Post new look in the mobile app, OLX Indonesia claims to have experienced an increase in the number of users by 15%. In accordance with the initial plan, many new users started from among female and millennial users.

Until now, there are 23 million active OLX users, an increase of about 10% compared to the average in 2016. This increase is claimed to be dominated by users who access OLX through Android applications, which reach 1,1 million users every day.

“The decision we made to change the appearance of OLX had a positive impact on the increase in the number of OLX users. Moreover, among these new users, we see an increase in the number of female and young users, as we would like,” said OLX Indonesia COO, Doan Lingga.

After abandoned by Daniel Tumiwa as CEO in May 2017, until now OLX Indonesia has not had a new CEO. The position of CEO of OLX Indonesia is currently held by Robin Voogd, who also serves as CEO of OLX Asia.

To the media, OLX Indonesia CMO Edward Kilian Suwigyo revealed that OLX Indonesia is still looking for a suitable person to replace Daniel Tumiwa as CEO. According to him, it is not easy to find a suitable leader to occupy the CEO position.

Transactions increase during Ramadan

During the month of Ramadan, the OLX Indonesia team noted that there were several increases in demand and sales of clothing products to cars. Meanwhile, the category of electronics and new gadgets will see an increase on H-15 Lebaran.

Transactions during this Ramadan are predicted to slow down on the fifth day before Eid. OLX data notes that for the vacancies and service categories, transactions will rapidly increase again five days after Lebaran. This is because many people are looking for work in the informal sector, such as drivers, housemaids, or shop employees.

OLX Indonesia's "Sell Point" feature

In the near future, OLX Indonesia will launch a Selling Point feature for users who don't have much time to sell online. With this feature, users will be able to promote products and sell through official OLX Indonesia agents. The plan for this feature will be a fee of IDR 100 thousand for agent fees and a commission of 5 percent of total sales or a minimum of IDR 25.000 (value service).

While users who want to take advantage of comprehensive services, OLX will also provide Full Service equipped with logistics. Later, the items that have been taken will be stored by the OLX partner, namely Raja Jual. Commission Fee for Selling Point of Service Full Service is 10 percent or a minimum of IDR 250 thousand.
