Pomelo Fashion E-commerce Soon to Release Offline Outlets and COD Service "Pomelo Pick Up"

Co-Founder and CEO Pomelo David Jou explained that actually not only in Indonesia the plan will be launched, but also in Singapore. These two countries are considered to have a significant increase in business for the company as a whole, David must not include the data.

Thailand is still a contributor to Pomelo's business as a whole. In total, Pomelo operates in six countries, three other countries namely Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. The company first operated in Thailand in 2014, two years later entering Indonesia.

To complete offline outlets, Pomelo will immediately release a COD service "Pomelo Pick Up" which will soon be available in Singapore and Indonesia. Consumers can shop as many products as possible through the Pomelo application and choose certain outlets as delivery points.

The outlet is a partner of Pomelo. There consumers can try all their orders, without having to pay at all. They only need to pay for the goods they like and return them directly at the outlet if something is not to their taste.

"This concept is very convenience for consumers because we want to make sure they're happy with what they're buying."

As an illustration, the COD concept has been implemented in Thailand. Pomelo works with 23 retailers for delivery points that consumers can choose from. Pomelo's offline outlets are spread over seven points that can be reached by consumers.

As a technology company, Pomelo does the entire manufacturing, shipping, supply chain leaders, retailing, design, integrated and in-house. The largest manufacturers are in Thailand and China. In these two countries all Pomelo products are made.

David claims that every week, the company is able to make hundreds of units of clothing every week that are ready to be shipped according to their respective target markets. Shipments are made entirely from Thailand, until now Pomelo does not have its own warehouse in Indonesia or in any country to shorten delivery times.

However, David said that his party does not yet have a deeper plan to develop the company into supporting industries such as logistics or logistics fintech.

"Our focus is still on finding solutions on how to provide consumers with the best experience when shopping for fashion. Pomelo will regularly release products that are environmentally friendly. seasonal, such as specifically welcoming the moment of Ramadan and modestwear."

In order to increase Pomelo's business contribution, David said his party would recruit more local teams. Currently, the local team of the company is only about 10 people who are engaged in the marketing and public relations.

JD.com is a Pomelo investor who entered through series B funding of US$19 million in November 2017. Another investor who entered the round was Provident Capital Partners.
