Noice Closes Pre-Series A Funding Round, Led by Alpha JWC Ventures and Go Ventures

Noice will use the funding for product development, technology and team expansion. Will also launch Noice Live feature

Audio platforms on-demand Noice officially closed the pre-series A funding round led by Alpha JWC Ventures and Go-Ventures with an undisclosed amount. Several other investors participated in this round again, namely Kinesys Group and Kenangan Kapital.

Previously, both Alpha JWC Ventures, Capital Memories, and Kinesys Group has already participated in early stage funding Noice announced last March.

In his press release, Alpha JWC Ventures Partner Eko Kurniadi said he was committed to supporting Noice's business growth going forward. According to him, the Noice platform has shown significant development thanks to the concept all-in-one carried, strategy hyperlocal, and the expansion of its team and community.

"Noice's vision to create an audio content ecosystem is a strong reason that convinces us of Noice's potential as the best in the local realm. What Noice has to offer in the future is very interesting and this will bring big changes to the content industry in Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, for SVP of Investments Go Ventures Aditya Kumar, the increase in digital content consumption in Indonesia shows that there is a significant gap in the audio content segment. "The need for quality entertainment content is increasing because more work and learning activities are carried out from home. Noice is here to meet these needs," he said.

Noice was established under the auspices of PT Mahaka Radio Digital in 2018, which is a joint venture company owned by PT Mahaka Radio Integra Tbk (IDX: MARI) and PT Quatro Kreasi Indonesia. Quatro is the result of a consortium of record companies in Indonesia, including Musica, Aquarius, My Music, and Trinity.

Incessantly develop product and team

This funding round is sufficient to explain the aggressive steps taken by Noice since early 2021 to realize its target as the best local audio content platform in Indonesia. His party seeks to strengthen three aspects through this new funding, namely products, programs, and expansion.

"We continue to develop technology, original content and increase the number of our team from the best backgrounds. We are also in the process of incorporating new features to expand content distribution, build a system for creators, monetization, and increase interaction between creators and listeners in the NOICE application, said CEO Rado Ardian.

In previous article, Noice began to increase the number of its team, mainly to strengthen the technology division. The company also appointed two new leaders, namely Rado Ardian as Chief Executive Officer and Niken Sasmaya as Chief Business Officer. Both are veterans of the technology giant Google with various work experiences in the Asia Pacific region.

As of the third quarter of 2021, Noice had pocketed over 1 billion minutes of user-played content. The number of users has also increased by 144% in the past year with 800 thousand registered listeners. In terms of content, Noice has had more than 3.100 episodes podcast, and 200 catalogs podcast, both original and exclusive content. Noice has also worked with more than 100 podcasts.

One of them is Noice Live, a complementary feature to content podcast, audiobooks, and streaming radio. Rado said Noice Live will offer the experience social networking different in audio format, where there will be interaction real-time between creators, listeners, musicians, fans, and even experts.

Meanwhile, Niken added that it is trying to accommodate the content needs of users who are outside Jakarta. With strategy hyperlocal, Noice will collaborate with various local creators who create relevant content according to their respective regions. "Our vision is to create an ecosystem of audio content creators so creators can thrive and connect with their listeners."

Based on Spotify data, Indonesia dominates consumption podcast the most in Southeast Asia in 2020. As much as 20% of the total Spotify users in Indonesia listen podcast every month, and that number is higher than the global average percentage.
