Netflix Starts Testing Game Content on Its Android App

Netflix subscribers in Poland can already play two mobile games from the Stranger Things franchise

Last July, Netflix officially announced its intention to insert game to the content catalog. Netflix apparently did not take long to execute the plan. Just a month later, they are apparently ready to test the content Gamingher with the public.

So far the testing has only been carried out in Poland. Netflix subscribers there can now try out two game on its Android devices, namely “Stranger Things: 1984” and “Stranger Things 3”. In the next few months, the testing will expand to other countries, and will also cover platform iOS.

All of this is in line with what was reported last month, that Netflix will be launching in mobile platforms first, and gameis made based on a number of franchise Existing Netflix. Stranger Things itself is indeed one of the franchise Netflix's most popular series, and season all four are scheduled to attend next year.

Netflix did not forget to reiterate that the line gameThis can be enjoyed at no additional cost. Customers will also not see advertisements or in-app purchase in the game-his. Everything is included in the usual Netflix subscription fee.

What's interesting, if the movies on our Netflix stream from cloud, apparently content gameit's not like that. So when clicking “Install Game” in the Netflix app, customers will be redirected to the Google Play Store to download game-his. This method is more similar to that applied by Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass than Stadia or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

We can actually just directly download gameit's from the Google Play Store, but when we want to play, we need login using their respective Netflix accounts. So far, there is no information whether Netflix will switch to this method in the future streaming completely, or even continue to use a method like this.

If switch to method streaming a la Stadia, Netflix of course has to think about the experience that will be obtained by its customers who use iOS devices. The reason is, Apple really only allows cloud gaming platform to operate using web app rather than native apps of iOS.
