Net1 Indonesia Continues to Expand Internet Access to Remote Rural Areas

Launched 4MHz 450G service in rural areas of Central Java

Aims to spread a comprehensive 4G network to remote villages, Net1 Indonesia expand the coverage area in the Central Java region. Claiming to be the only telecommunications service that relies on the 450MHz frequency with 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology, Net1 Indonesia opens services to Telogoharjo. Now the village adjacent to the Pacitan border has also received 4G internet access.

To DailySocial, CEO of Net1 Indonesia Larry Ridwan said, Telogoharjo Village is not the first village to becover net1 network. To date, Net1 has reached almost 30.000 villages throughout Indonesia, almost all of which are regions rural to remote areas.

The advantage of Net1 service is its low frequency characteristic of 450 MHz, so it is very suitable to be applied to areas that have a large area and low density.

"Not only on the island of Java, Net1 has also been present in other villages. Judging from the demographics of Indonesia, which is hilly, mountainous and winding, then the population density is sparse, making it difficult for operators to reach the area and it requires a large cost to reach. Net1 itself, the cost is relatively small."

To help more telecommunication operators increase the number of areas, Net1 has also offered strategic cooperation. In addition, Net1 has also approached the government so that companies can provide better 4G internet access in remote areas.

"I have thrown out the invitation because this is not only the work of one party. We have also visited other players so that synergies can be carried out. However, this is still difficult to do regarding the existence of regulations network sharing. This is still somewhat sensitive because the regulations do not yet exist," said Larry.

Currently, in the Yogyakarta - Central Java area, Net1 has almost 700 BTS. The company targets in 5 years to reach 2500 BTS, in accordance with the government's commitment.

"Well, we hope in 3 years time already cover all villages. Rural villages that need a good signal it may be around 15-20.000 villages. That's enough scalable for us," said Larry.

Launching Net1 Partner

To help the general public who need a 4G network, Net1 launched the Net1 Partner program. Mitra Net1 is the company's partnership with the community to provide internet credit for villagers. Thus, it is now easier for them to get 4G services.

"Mitra Net1 is a special sales partner for prepaid products and is also a selling agent for Net1 credit. The target is to become a channel Net1 distribution in the villages. Currently, almost 3.000 Partners have joined in less than 1 year," said Larry.
