Titipku Application Designed to Involve the Community to Help SMEs “Go-Digital”

Offer user commissions in the form of company share ownership vouchers

Internet penetration and smart phones make Indonesia a very promising digital market share. This is a golden opportunity for business people to reach a wider range of consumers. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not immediately available to all business owners, especially SMEs who do not yet have high digital literacy -- they do not understand the concept of marketplace work, marketing through services on-demand and others.

Seeing these conditions, leave me present with a mission to help SMEs to digitize. The way is interesting, namely by involving the community to directly contribute to helping SMEs in the vicinity. The Titipku application is designed like social media, each user can upload information about SMEs that they have encountered. Every uploaded content will be curated and verified.

The content is displayed in the Browse feature in the app. Generally contains photos and stories about small traders or SMEs that are highlighted. Not only that, content uploaders can also create online stores on the Titipku platform and provide deposit services (jatip). So that other users can buy the goods provided by SMEs earlier. The transaction process is facilitated through the Titipku application.

"For example, around the house there is a hawker merchant, Titipku users can upload profiles and stories about the merchant and act as a jatiper (the person entrusted to buy). Other users can enjoy the story and participate in buying the merchandise they own. More or less like that a simple picture of how Titipku helps SMEs in areas that have not been touched by online services," said Titipku's Founder & CEO Henri Suhardja when met on the sidelines of the 2019 Australia Awards Startup Ecosystem.

Profit sharing mechanism to users

Henri also explained about the profit sharing value given to users for every transaction that occurs through Titipku. The commission given to Jatiper is taken from the cost of shipping to the destination, so that SMEs get the full amount for the purchase of goods made. Titipku also provides a joint account to ensure the transaction process goes well.

Not only that, for every transaction that is successfully created in the Titipku application, the user will get voucher share ownership in Titipku (PT Terang Bagi Bangsa). One of Titipku's targets is to bring in an IPO company. This concept is considered to be able to increase the sense of belonging for users, so that they can jointly realize the vision and mission that has been determined.

"We have received initial funding from angel investors. There are no plans yet fundraisingI want to have an IPO," said Henri.

To date, there have been more than 800 users who have contributed to helping 6.000 SMEs to go-digital. The application that has been launched has also been downloaded more than 15 thousand times. The existing SME categories include craftsmen, food/beverage sellers, basic food traders, fashion product traders, and others.
