Moselo Returns to Pivot, Now Focuses on Being a Creative and "Handmade" Product Marketplace

The decision was taken at the end of 2018, still providing a creative service menu

In the middle of last year, Moselo positioned himself as marketplace for creative services -- after initially being developed as application chat commerce. Now it pivots again, according to market fit, to become marketplace which offers more creative products.

"Yes, that's right, we pivot to marketplace especially for creative and handmade products, but for creative services it can still be accessed in one of the menus creative services. We still see there are some demand from customer, but not as big as creative products," explains Moselo CEO Richard Fang.

This pivot started in August 2018. Then in December 2018 Moselo became fully marketplace which focuses on creative products and handmade. According to internal data, since December 2018 they have experienced business growth of 10% per month and transactions have grown 25% per month.

So far Moselo already has 1.500 Moselo Experts, gets 25.000 users, and gets thousands of transactions.

"Until now, an average of hundreds of millions of Rupiah per month has been received by the expert affiliated with marketplace Moselo," added Richard.

After focusing on creative products and handmade, Richard admitted that the company had positive achievements. In March 2019 yesterday they just implemented the system fee 10% of each transaction.

"For revenueModel, in March 2019 yesterday we just implemented the Moselo Fee 10% system for every transaction. So far we haven't been able share the numbers, but have shown promising potential," explained Richard.

Moselo has a mission to connect local Moselo Experts, the majority of whom are still solopreneur, to transform into a creative business that can create jobs in their surroundings.

Through technology, creativity, and relevant education, Moselo believes he can contribute to the development of the creative economy, especially in welcoming the peak of demographics in 2030.

"If 100.000 expert If you open job vacancies for 10 employees only, then 1 million jobs will be achieved. When that happens, then Moselo can be said to be successful," said Richard.

In 2019, Moselo plans to hold more Moselo Art Market events. The first event is scheduled for 27-28 April 2019. Such an event is expected to help Moselo Experts to be better known in the community.

"Our target is to reach 100.000 users by the end of 2019," concluded Richard.
