Microsoft Ink to Code Turns Hand Scribbles Into Apps

Sketches and handwriting are not only detected and refined, but programming codes are also made

Today you may no longer be amazed to see an application that can detect our sketches and handwriting, then turn them into a neater one. But in reality, this kind of technology can still be developed further to amaze you again, as the Microsoft Garage team did recently.

One of his newest projects, Ink to Code, is designed to make the process easier brainstorming application developers. In general, sessions brainstorming starting with scribbles on paper, before finally being translated into line by line code that became the initial prototype of an application.

With Ink to Code, developers can sketch UI (UI) application using stylus, then let the program write the lines of code by itself. So the sketches that are made are not only tidied up, but also the programming codes are made.

However, this does not mean that Ink to Code can develop functional applications only from developer scribbles. What is actually made is only the foundation of the application, but at least this step alone is very helpful in saving time in the development stage of an application.

For now, Ink to Code itself is still a prototype and has not really matured. But the situation is actually exactly the same for other Microsoft Garage projects, for example applications Microsoft Launcher, which at first was nothing more than a prototype as well as a side project.
