Measuring Profit and Loss Multitasking While Working

There is a stark comparison between managing multiple tasks and multitasking

Every startup founder knows very well how to be productive every day and develop time management skills. On the other hand, these two things backfire because the founder is challenged to maintain his focus and not be too spread out doing everything alone.

Therefore, the term multitasking considered as something positive. Because the more you can do at once, the more productive your day will be. Over time, multitasking became less popular because according to one study, when people multitask, they are actually less productive overall.

Multitasking vs multitasking

Take for example, when you receive a call from a client, you also check other business documents at the same time. This means that you are not paying full attention to both tasks. So it can be said that multitasking is not the best solution because it does two things at once.

You may conclude that the solution is to cut back on your work so you can focus more. Likewise, when you are a startup founder, it may be more effective to only run one business. You don't have to make decisions like that.

The best solution is that you should focus on managing multiple tasks in a structured way, but not involving multitasking. How can you be disciplined to use every minute available, to focus on doing one job.

If you don't know how to focus and prioritize, you will have a hard time managing one job or another area of your life. Just imagine you are like a student, who takes four to five classes per semester.

Should they only take one class at a time? Of course not. What this does is focus on one task at a time, whether he takes one class, three or six classes. This approach can be applied in business.

Tips to stay productive and focused

1. Be selective about the project you will take. The busier you are, the smarter you need to be before giving the green light for a project or task. Ask yourself if this is really helping you towards your goal, or is it just a waste of time.

2. Minimize interruptions. When you run a business, people will always want to talk to you. If you can't be disciplined to limit time on the phone or when you meet in person, then you'll have a hard time getting anything done. For that, you should set aside a certain time when you want to focus on a particular job.

3. Always make the meeting short but focused. Because meetings that drag on without a good reason, of course, will only waste time and reduce your productivity.

4. Focus on only one task at a time. This is the most important tip of all. The amount of time you spend on one task doesn't have to be long. Can apply focus for only 25 minutes, then take a short break. This will be very effective on your own. The key is to be disciplined not to be distracted from various factors, whether from yourself, cell phones, computers, or other people.

When you give your full attention to each task that is right in front of you, then you will be able to manage a lot of work without realizing it. This is certainly good for the smooth running of the business, because you can reduce the potential for errors. At the same time stay productive doing a lot of work.
