The Games Marketplace for Windows PC Will Close Soon

Unpleasant news is here for the gamer, Microsoft announced that marketplace PC Games For Windows will be deactivated in less than a week, on August 22 to be exact.

However, there is one important thing that must be underlined, is closing marketplace Games For Windows this will not affect platform Games For Windows Live.

Based on the news I got from The Escapist Magazinetitles You can still get Games For Windows Live from various places and platform buy and sell online, one of which of course is Steam. But this means there are some bitter facts that we must swallow.

The first is by closing this means some future game franchises Microsoft's brand name is sealed forever. There will likely be no more Age of Empire sequels in the future, and Microsoft IPs like Halo and Gears of War will never be released on PC. Is this the price to pay for a better Games For Windows Live service? Maybe not either.

Another problem that awaits is if you are one of the consumers who likes to collect Microsoft Points – or prepare these points if new DLCs are released in Indonesia. games which in-publish Microsoft. If you don't spend Microsoft Points immediately, those points will be forfeited starting August 22 tomorrow. The alternative is that you have to spend it quickly.

Well, I'll add one other thing that bothers me: Microsoft makes a statement, “Availability of transactions in-game and purchase downloadable content (DLC) depending on each title game itself. You are welcome to contact game publisher each for more information.”

Another method that Microsoft offers to keep these points from being wasted is “by using them to purchase various content from official Xbox outlets; or if you have a Windows Phone 8 device, you can spend it at the Windows Phone Store.” But what if you don't own either of these devices at all?

One other unconfirmed way is Microsoft's comment that you can exchange Microsoft Points into real currency, but so far we don't know how and what the prerequisites are. But if you see track record this company, Microsoft is unlikely to be willing to do this...
