Lazada Indonesia Managing Director Resigns

We have information that Susie Sugden, Managing Director Lazada Indonesia, has resigned. This is the second retirement of the top personnel in the Rocket Internet regional group in the past month, after Nadiem Makarim decided to step down as CEO of Zalora Indonesia at the end of last April. Lazada and Zalora are both at the forefront of Rocket Internet's e-commerce business in Southeast Asia. Lazada is present in mid-March this year and focuses on electronics and household needs.

Of course the resignation of two key personnel raises a question mark among Internet business activists. Moreover, a few days ago a large e-commerce company in Indonesia has formed a association to improve the quality of Indonesia's e-commerce ecosystem, which is in a growing stage -- with very rapid growth, in line with the shift in culture. Susie Sugden herself before serving as chairman of Lazada Indonesia, worked for the well-known consulting firm Boston Consulting Group. Sugden has a social science background which he obtained from the University of Melbourne.
