online investment market (wealthtech) in Indonesia again enlivened new players. PT Innovation Financial Technology officially launched the Makmur platform which targets the youth segment. Potential investors can start investing with a minimum value of IDR 10.000.

Currently, Makmur provides eight investment managers, namely BNI Asset Management, Bahana TCW Investment Management, Trimegah Asset Management, Avrist Asset Management, Capital Asset Management, RHB Asset Management, FWD Asset Management, and Syailendra Asset Management.

The company has obtained a Mutual Fund Selling Agent (APERD) permit from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on February 5, 2021. This platform is already available for Android and iOS devices.

Makmur offers several mutual fund products, ranging from equity, mixed, money market mutual funds to US dollar-denominated mutual funds. This platform re-selects mutual funds based on past performance, top holding, and management costs.

"We provide investment recipes for all types of investors on the Makmur platform, from investments with very low risk to those with large profit potential. There are also investment recipes that provide regular dividend users for those who want to earn passive income," said Founder and CEO Makmur Sander. Parawira in his official statement.

Makmur also offers a number of excellent features to strengthen the added value of its products. First, human adviser technology-based and Makmur Recipe to make it easier for novice investors to compare the right mutual funds. Users can also place mutual funds in different pockets according to their needs or investment goals (goal based investing).

In addition, Makmur is equipped with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) which enables the system to read the writing on the ID card so that potential investors do not need to enter data one by one. There is also technology face recognition to make it easier to compare faces with photo ID cards. With this technology, Makmur claims to be able to complete the registration process in 5 minutes.

In terms of security, Makmur also provides two-factor authentication (OTP and PIN) and biometrics (fingerprint and facial identification) to ensure data protection so that only authorized account holders can access the app.

"In the near future, we will release a payment method virtual accounts and GoPay. Going forward, Makmur will also add other payment options, such as OVO, DANA, and Direct Debit from investor banks to facilitate transactions," he added.

Experience in finance and technology industry

Makmur is strengthened by a series of team work experiences at leading technology and financial companies in Silicon Valley and Wall Street. Sander previously had an internship as a Facebook Software Engineer in charge of the algorithm for sorting posts on the News Feed and a Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions.

He has also held various positions in the financial industry, from KCG Holdings to Head of Quantitative Trading at Virtu Financial, a company trading largest stock on Wall Street.

With this experience, Sander seeks to improve awareness invest in Indonesia by developing an easy-to-use investment platform. Especially for the younger generation who have contributed greatly to the increase in capital market investors in recent years.

As is known, fintech is one of the business verticals that has experienced rapid growth in Indonesia in recent years. Based on Fintech Report 2020Investment is the fintech sub-sector that experienced the highest growth compared to other sub-sectors, which was 116%.

The total capital market investors in Indonesia are recorded at 5,89 million investors as of August 6, 2021 or four times higher than 2017 based on Indonesian Central Securities Depository data (KSEI).
